While not the prettiest, nicest or most chic restaurant in Vienna, this place has some of the best schnitzel in town without all the tourist overkill and price of Figlemuller or Plachuta. The schnitzel is hardy, gamey and bursting with flavor and even the accompanying traditional potato salad is substantial and delicious. These guys get everything right from the ratty interior, to the grumpy wait staff, to the huge tankards of good Austrian beer. This is not a place for the fainthearted, but if you are in the mood for a serious schnitzel meal there is nowhere better.
