“Trying really hard but ....”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

This hotel is trying really hard but fails on a number of crucial levels for me:

Room interior feels dated and dirty.
Hotel TV system awkward, faulty.
Hotel wifi free but very slow or you can pay.
Restaurant, very limited menu after 11pm.
Breakfast was slow beyond belief! I waited 50mins for an omelette and when it arrived it was the worst omelette I have ever eaten, I can do better myself. The cost, €32. Unbelievable.
Elevator, only one so it's very slow, stopping every floor etc..

Oh and there is major construction next door lots of banging/thudding.

Dear Giles 1234, thank you for taking the time to write a review on tripadvisor. Are you sure that you meant to write about The Ring hotel? We have two elevators for the guests and a third one for the staff as the hotel is a quite small boutique hotel, it never comes to a wait. For being the hotels quality Manager I am personally checking the rooms for cleanliness on a daily basis, also we refurbish our rooms on a regularely. Please feel free to contact me personally to further discuss this matter, you can join me by email under pbeaulieu@jjwhotels.com or under the number +43 1 22122.

We made a brief trip into Vienna, so only stayed here one night. The location across from the opera house is perfect, the room was stylish and well appointed and the staff helpful and friendly. I would certainly stay here again and would not hesitate in recommending it.

Room Tip: There was some noise from the tram on the main street but not enough to be a disturbance.

This gorgeous hotel is very quiet and classy. Nothing is overdone, it is very calm and a delightful oasis of relaxation in Vienna's touristic center. My room was very large, spacious and immaculately clean. After walking around all day, I closed my door and was immediately refreshed with clean sheets, classy decor, and a comfortable bed.
The hotel is obviously a respite for celebrities. This fact is proudly displayed. Celebrities like Meatloaf, the Foo Fighters, and Scarlet Johansson grace the wall like badges oh honor. The stars must go elsewhere for a party because this hotel is very quiet. They probably go here to hide away! I asked if Marilyn Manson slept in my room, and was very glad when the lovely clerk said- no.

The hotel is in a very central location about 200 metres from the State Opera House and the Karlsplatz metro station . All the main shopping streets are on your doorstop , and there is an abundance of restaurants nearby. The Hop On Hop Off bus is also at the Opera House .
The reception staff were always friendly and very helpful , and the housekeeping service was excellent . They kept me going with Nespresso refills all through our 5 night stay.
The rooms are big and the bed is extremely comfortable . Our room faced the main road , but there was no street noise as the double glazed windows ensure peace and quiet .
There is a couple of Spar deli's nearby and a huge underground supermarket underneath the shopping mall directly opposite the hotel . There's also a fresh produce market with restaurants nearby which is popular with both locals and tourists.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Vienna - the rooms are large for a European hotel, and the high ceilings make the room feel more spacious. The rooms were impeccable and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel gym and spa are wonderful and worth a visit if you have the time. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The best part was the location: walking distance to most of the major sites of Vienna and 1 block away from the subway and directly in front of a tram stop. I can't wait to stay here again!!

Dear Lynette R, Thank you for staying at The Ring, Vienna’s Casual Luxury Hotel and for writing such a detailed review. It’s great that you mention the spa, a lot of people don’t take the time to see it, even though it’s got an amazing view do to the fact that it overlooks over the roofs and from the sauna you can see St Charles church. We would be very happy to welcome you again in the future.

Ring is 5mins (max) walking distance from Karlsplatz station and State Opera house. The hotel is centrally located however in a peaceful corner.
Stayed with my wife for 2 days in July. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We initially got a room (special)on the 5th floor with windows facing inwards. We requested to change the view and the reception lady immediately moved us onto 3rd floor with a bigger room and windows looking out to the side street. We were happy with the new room.
We got good recommendations for restaurants, sight-seeing from the hotel staff.
We will certainly stay at The Ring in Vienna on our next trip as it undoubtedly had the best blend of location, room quality and service.

I stayed here for 1 night.

The rooms are extremely spacious and the ceiling is high, giving the rooms a very "open" and nice feeling. The bathroom was separate from the toilet, I found this to be very convenient when sharing room with someone else!
The beds were super soft and I slept so well there, even with the traffic outside! Because this is in the city center, you will hear a little traffic outside (not the cars but the tram - but i cant recall hearing it during night time, only during the day), but it wasnt anything that bothered me.
The hotel was spotless and so clean that you could probably eat from the toilet.

The location is great, close to Kärntner strasse where all the nice shops are, metro and tram right outside, plenty of restaurants, etc.

A little nice gesture: the housekeeping comes by with chocolate in the evening :) The service was excellent! Highly recommend it, worth the price. Will come back.
