“Well equipped hotel, have all we need!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2014

I was there with my girlfriend to witness the Northern Light between 6th to 9th Feb 2014. City Living, is definitely one of the well equipped apartment especially for us people from the tropical country. Since we are there during the winter, our outmost priority definitely has to be the room heater, which works perfectly fine (with 2). The most impressive is that the bathroom has heated flooring which is definitely nice when we return from the freezing street.

The fully equipped kitchenette did help us in saving our dollars where everything is so expensive. After a trip to the supermarket around 5 mins away, we are all ready for a 4 days meals all prepared in the kitchenette.

The stuff are especially helpful in providing the best recommendation.

There is not a lot to be said about this hotel, but it's all good. It is nice and very clean, pretty big rooms, nice big bathroom, big bed. In general, it was very good value.

One of the nights we stayed there, some chinese tourist put his shoes in the oven (to dry... at 4am?) which caused the fire alarm to go off several times. The hotel was extremely apologetic and professional, and refunded us for one night. They handled it superbly.

After one vacation staying in the two City Living hotels, I recommend them hugely. They're awesome, they're cheap, they're super clean and they offer great value for money! Stay there if you can!

Excellent facilities near everything including a supermarket to buy food. Great cooking facilities, saved us £££££s while visiting Tromso. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Super friendly reception staff.

Once i step at the reception and everything is perfect, the stuff were more than friendly, they even offer me bigger room for free, the hotel is very clean from inside, the rooms are so nice decoration and the location of the hotel was amazing 5 min walk to reach almost everywhere shopping mall, fancy bar and seafood restaurant, its simply in the middle of city you will never regret staying there and when u want to head back to the airport the bus is 2 min away its the best value for money once again the stuff is really very helpful and friendly

Room Tip: the main street view was really nice

I booked a room there and they have a kitchen in the room even it is only a single room. There are complete set of utensils. But make sure you bring your own condiment otherwise you need to buy the big one in supermarket, which may ruin your plan of saving money.

Also notice that there are no reception at night. If you come late please indicate in your reservation or you need to prepare a way to call them and call someone to open the room for you when you arrive late.

The room is clean and the staff are friendly in general. Worth trying if you like to cook. Also there is a self laundry machine in the basement but you need to bring your own soap.

Dear traveller. Thank you so much for your kind review! We are very happy that you had a good time staying at City Living! We always call or email late arrivals to arrange the late check in. There is staff at the hotel even if the reception is closed, this person has a duty phone in case we have not been able to inform the late check-ins about procedure for late arrivals :-) Welcome back if visiting Tromsø again! Great service and a nice location in the centre of the city.
BUT the lack of ventilation made it very difficult to get a good night sleep. I had to open the window to get some fresh air but then the noice from the streest outside kept me awake. It is a self catering hotel without a kitchen ventilator so you have to decide if you want to sleep in the fumes from cooking or eat in a resturant.

City Living Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Tromso. There's a supermarket, restaurants, bars, all sorts of sights etc. close to the hotel. We stayed in a double room with a small kitchenette. Room was spacious and clean and offered value for money in Norway. All the personnel that we met were always smiley and friendly. There was no room service (cleaning up the bathroom, making the bed) at least during our three day stay, but that was ok with our short stay.

For breakfast you can buy a voucher from the hotel to the next door restaurant Egon. We did that on one morning, but I have to say I preferred breakfast at the Cafe 4 Roser, because it tasted somehow fresher. Cafe also has a very nice atmosphere. Both restaurants are located next to the hotel.

All in all, City Living is a great hotel and I'll definitely return there on my next trip to Norway.
