We booked this tour at the very last minute and were so lucky to get in as Hege and PerThore were going away on holiday the following day. Hege picked us up in the centre of Tromso when we discovered we were the only two people booked that day.More good luck! When we arrived at the property we met 100 excited Siberian Huskies which was slightly overwhelming even for dog lovers like ourselves. The 16 puppies in a separate area were adorable. We then harnessed "our" huskies, Apple and Popcorn, and set off on our expedition up the mountain. This was not a stroll in the countryside but a fast-paced hike as the dogs were extremely energetic and eager. However the ascent was facilitated by the pull of the dogs attached at our hips. We stopped at a lake for lunch which we cooked ourselves on a fire (this was when we discovered poor Hege had been carrying firewood and half a supermarket in her backpack!). We thoroughly enjoyed our day in the mountains with our canine companions which was the highlight of our trip to Norway. Hege was an exceptional guide, chatty and friendly with extensive knowledge of the area and an obvious love for her dogs. The highest recommendation we can give is that we will be returning to Arctic Adventure Tours in February 2015 to experience their popular dog-sledding tour.
