“An unforgettable experience !”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

My wife and I did the two day dogsledding tour, camping on the snow for one night. Definitely the most challenging, rewarding and spectacular part of our European holiday. Don't be discouraged if you have a few spills initially - the first part of the journey from Tore's house was the most technical, after that it was pretty much plain sailing if you have a fair sense of balance. Luckily there was a bit of a blizzard prior to our departure, and by the second day we were sledding through a valley on virgin snow with bright blue skies above - a sensational experience we will never forget. The dogs are friendly, and our guide Jeffrey was very competent and patient, with a good sense of humour. Luckily our fellow sledders (an Irish father and son) were great company also. Despite -10 deg temperature at night, the camping gear supplied kept us very warm. A view of the Northern Lights would have made our trip perfect, however it gives us a good excuse to return!

“Definitely Active Tromso”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Our travel agent organised this activity for us and we didn't know what to expect. What a well organised, friendly and exciting day. We were picked up at our hotel by Tore and transported to the valley where we met his wife and wonderful dogs.. He involves the visitors in preparing the dogs and sleds, advises you on how to drive and then leads you on a merry ride through the valley for approx. 2 hours. A few tumbles were had but the dogs know when to stop and go so no damage done.We finished with coffee and biscuits and a comfortable 30 minute drive back to Tromso.
Because we missed the Northern Lights we are going to do it all again including Active Tromso.

“Dog Sled Tour”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

We enjoyed a two day dog sled tour in March organised by Active Tromso. Excellent guide (Jirka) and good company. Organising tents, lots of dogs, guests, etc is a lot of responsibility for the guide because we are all new to this, and he did it very well. A unique experience for city folk like us. Very happy.

“I want more!!”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

Me and my wife did the 1 day dog sledding trip and we loved it!! It was such an amazing experience.
I would say you have to have a fair level of fitness to assist the dogs up the hills and be open to minor risks such as the sled tipping over as this happened to us but it was a soft landing and a great experience.
The clothes and boots provided were incredibly warm and kept you warm throughout the journey.
Have a big breakfast and you should be okay, just take a sandwich and some water to have at the end.
The dogs are real characters and incredibly friendly and love to run, run, run!
I have to do this again but for a longer jaunt!
