If you looking for a budget place to lay your head whilst in walking distance to all the sights this is a great hotel, it was run more like a hostel than hotel as had to check yourself in on a pc and girl who did man the reception was not very friendly but for basic reasons it was a good choice. Great location and very clean and has funky little chairs.
When me and my girlfriend stayed here it was brand new. Everything was shiny and cosy. There were a lunchroom downstairs from the lobby which was perfect for us since we bought food we could heat up in microwaveovens.
There were internet and a nice tv, and the staff was young and really professional.
The only downside was that the prices differed every day. It actually doubled during the week so we had to change hotel. But while it was a good price it was cheaper than the hostels in Oslo.
There were a really nice gym too!
The hotel's concept seemed smart in the expensive Oslo. Self check-in is simple, the staff is welcoming and ready to help. Coffee and tea facilities are in the lobby, public PCs are available in the lobby too. Breakfast and cleaning may be ordered separately if needed (you do not have to pay for it). The room itself is small so it may be difficult to stay at this hotel with kids or bulky luggage. Parking is right in front of the hotel (free from 6 pm to 8 am as far as I remember), Perfect place for a short stay in Oslo!
I stayed here one night as I was in town for a conference. I got a very good deal on the hotel website, so I really did not expect much. You check in at machines in the lobby, almost like auto check-in at airports. If there is a problem with the machine, a staff member is present at all times. The rooms were rather small, but with a cool design, and they were clean. Location is OK for an Oslo hotel, and the main streets are just a few minutes walk away. The hotel operates almost like a low-fares airline, so only the room is included in the price, you do get what you pay for. For example breakfast is not included, but for an additional 89 NOK, you can get it delivered at the door. At that price, however, you can probably get cheaper and much nicer breakfast at a nearby Café or even a 7-eleven. All in all, a great hotel at a great price.
The Comfort Hotel Xpress is what I expect a modern hotel should be - reasonably located, logially priced, and offering all the amenties required without waste or fuss. I experienced all of that here:
1. Reasonably located
Whilst not in the centre of Oslo, it really isn't too far away. The first trip from the train station to the hotel might be tricky, but after doing it once there's no problem.
2. Logically priced
Book in advance and this is by far one of the cheapest hotels in Oslo, without skimping on quality as a result.
3. Offering all the amenities required
Free internet? Check. PCs to use? Check. Big space to eat and hang out in? Check. Good variety on modern TV? Check. Brilliant!

The Comfort Hotel Xpress is a great place to explore Oslo from. It is very central and close to Oslo central station. It is a short train trip from Oslo Gardemoen airport to the central train station so the hotel is easily accessible from the airport.
The hotel is basic but spotlessly clean and has new furnishings. It is the best value-for-money hotel in Oslo that I could find- which when you consider the prices in Norway is a must!
I would recommend staying at the Comfort Hotel Xpress- the staff are friendly and helpful, it is clean and comfortable and perfectly located- what more could you ask for when there to explore a city?
