P-Hotels Oslo
Ranked #87 of 102 Hotels in Oslo
Reviewed 26 December 2013

I have stayed twice in the last two years at the P-Hotels in Oslo and it never disappoint me. For one, although the rooms are quite old, they are clean and have the basic amenities good enough for a nice relaxing stay for a few days in the city. In my several visits in the hotel, I had the chance to stay both in a room facing the road and an inner corner room with windows facing another side of the building. l can say that I've enjoyed the room by the road more as I love watching the scene outside while relaxing by the window with my book. I did not really get bothered by the noise outside like what some reviewers complain about.

The hotel is also centrally located near public transport stations making it easy for the traveler to go around the city. I also find the breakfast on bags (usually a sandwich of your choice, fruit drinks and apple) delivered every morning on your door as a nice touch, although I know some people who do not really feel comfortable with it. The price is also reasonable and gives you good value in an expensive city like Oslo. And finally, and most important, for me at least, is that the people at the reception are helpful and welcoming. I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel again if I am travelling on budget.

The location is great. The rooms were fine, kind of old, but clean. Service at front desk is helpful and friendly. I would stay again. Good value for expensive Oslo.

Breakfast is a waste! A ham & Cheese sandwich and an apple delivered to your door in a bag. I asked for Vegetarian and they were able to provide it. They should just knock off 59 NOK off the price and skip breakfast service altogether. Coffee and tea available in lobby is fine.

The hotel is not new or very modern, but it's location is perfect. It is only 10-15 minutes by foot from central bus terminal or train station, couple of minutes by foot from the Royal Palace. There is a metro station just 20 meters away and from there you can get to Vigeland park very easy or other directions. Room was clean, staff is very helpful. wi-fi a bit slow, but for the good price very good option. Would really come back here next time. The ones who are very sensitive to the noise can be unsatisfied - tram is going in the same street

We had a basic, clean room with a balcony. The hotel is very centrally located, and was very close to the station from which we caught an early morning train for the "Norway in a Nutshell" tour.

We felt like the hotel was reasonably priced for the location and the fact that this is Oslo, where everything is exorbitant. They also give you a nice breakfast (a sandwich, fruit, and OJ) -- and it actually makes for a nice mid-morning snack/light lunch while you're out and about in Oslo. The first day I believe they gave us a ham sandwich. When I called and indicated that we didn't eat pork, they got us a chicken curry sandwich brought in from their caterers instead at no extra charge which was a nice touch (the curry sandwich is delicious, btw). They also arranged for it to be delivered extra early the day we went for the Norway in a Nutshell tour. So basically, if you have any dietary restrictions/early morning plans, ask the hotel staff as they they see pretty accommodating.

You will get a bed, a bathroom, and even a sandwhich and a bottle of juice (which counts as breakfast) in the heart of the capital. If you are looking for a place to sleep, this is a good enough option, they even have a good wifi available. The truth is that a place to sleep in Oslo (which includes bed sheets, which this one btw, does) is never cheap. If you want some sense of privacy, you will have to pay. Next step in money savings would be hostel.

Room Tip: Remmember to pick up your wifi pass, and ask for breakfast. Book it through hotels.com to get reward...

This hotel will do okay if you need one in downtown Oslo, Norway. It's within walking distance to the water-front, Nobel Peace Center, stores and restaurants. The "breakfast" is really a pre-made American sandwich, a banana and a small bottle of apple juice that waits outside your hotel room each morning. The rooms are tiny. But because of the location it makes this choice a decent one.

Last night's stay in Oslo. Booked p-hotel for ease of walking into centre.
The hotel is pretty much the perfect location for a central stay.
The rooms are small with outdated decor.

The breakfast was simply awful. A packed sandwich , fruit and an apple juice left outside the room.

There are much better places to stay for the same price or cheaper

Smart hotel is 10x better and is close by. See seperate review

Overall --- very very average.
