“Very basic place to sleep”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

I spent the weekend there and its a GREAT location, short walk from the central train station.
You are right downtown with everything at the doorstep.
The room itself was small and basic but all I did was sleep there so it met my needs.
It was cheap, had free internet, free coffee and tea, free fruit to grab.
Was good for a short trip when all you need is a place to store your stuff and rest your head at night.

I needed a room to go apartment browsing from as I was moving to Oslo from a different city, so all I really needed was a cheap bed, breakfast and internet.
Sadly, this fell short of the mark. The internet was very hard to connect to, I had to try for 15 or 20 minutes every time I tried to reconnect (turning on the pc again after being out), and breakfast turned out to be a sandwhich like they have in the local corner stores. Had I known, I wouldn't have paid for it, and would have gone somewhere else.

As far as positives go, the bed was delightful to sleep in, bathroom was decently sized, it was cheap for Oslo and very central.

For days in Oslo staying in a center hotel with an interisting breakfast.
By the way : they can invent more types of sandwitches ! But the free cofee / tee was very good. Programs on the TV in the room only in Norvegian and very few!!!

The location was very convenient, right in the middle of the city, and the price was relatively cheap (for Norway), but there were several problems with the room. The main one was that the door doesn't lock when you close it. You have to lock it with your swipe card from the outside, which we have never come across before in any other hotel. They don't tell you that that is how it works, and even when we complained to reception they didn't seem to know what the problem was. Even the cleaners didn't know how it worked, because sometimes we returned to our room after they had been and found it unlocked. No one seemed at all concerned about rooms being accidentally left unlocked.

The other problem we had was that, of the five or six electricity sockets in the room, only one worked

Whilst I managed to get us lost navigating from the main station using the instructions given we arrived before the big summer down pour.
Our room was on the fifth floor looking into the court yard which was not a great view, but was nice and quiet.
The property on the mature side and could do with a renovate in places but if the money is spent then the nightly rare would have to go up to pay for it.
The room was large with plenty of room for two people, comfortable beds and importantly clean.
The bathroom whilst clean showed signs of wear with the shower screens just staying in place, taps had obviously been recently replaced.
A breakfast was included, which was a sandwich, piece of fruit and a small bottle of juice. Coffee and tea are available in a community room on the second floor. There are some reviews that have criticised the breakfast pack but it is better than nothing and one is not compelled to eat it.
The hotel is in the centre of town and within easy walking distance to the main attractions, otherwise the public transport is good.
There is a small super market almost directly across the road.

The staff are friendly and helpful for non Norwegian oriented tourists.
I would recommend the property for its location and reasonable cost if you do not require the glitz and hype of the big chains.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may be noisy from the passing trams. We were on the fifth floor internal and it w...

Hotel room was a little small but clean and quiet. The hotel is obviously in an older building. It was easy walking distance from Oslo Station and pretty central to tourist sights and restaurants. Shower was good though!

I've been at this hotel twice in a week on a round trip in Norway. The Location is great in the center of Oslo and the price is quite reasonable for Oslo. However, the rooms could use some renovation and the breakfast is a joke: A bag with a sandwich and a 20cl bottle of orange juice drop at your door + you have to go to another floor to get your coffee or tea.
