“A lovely stay at Saga Hotel”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Our family of two adults and one teenager stayed in the Saga Hotel for two nights in August. We arrived early in the morning and were happy to be able to leave our bags while we explored Oslo. When we returned to check in, everything went smoothly. We found our room to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. The room offered plenty of space, even with the addition of a cot. The bathroom was spacious too. We appreciated the quiet location in a residential neighborhood. We used the reliable tram system each day and found the nearby stop made it easy to negotiate our way. The breakfast was delicious. It had a large selection of items and everything was fresh and of good quality. On our last morning we needed to checkout before the breakfast room opened. The desk offered to pack something for us. We appreciated having some items packed and ready for us, although the take away breakfast was meager and minus any of the delicious bread items we had enjoyed in the breakfast room. We enjoyed the Saga Hotel Oslo and would be happy to have the chance to return for another stay.

My family of 4 stayed at this hotel for 6 days, checking in and out as we traveled around Norway. The hotel let us keep our bags there for a couple days as we traveled to Bergen which was such a relief.
We stayed in a suite as we had 4 people staying in one room and it was fantastic. The beds were super comfortable with soft duvets. The hotel is in a great location but in a residential area so it was extra quite which was wonderful. It was just like home. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this hotel for any one coming to Oslo!

We were a group of four traveling together. Booked our reservations online a few months before arrival. Reserved two rooms, one with two single beds and one with a double bed. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. Check in was quick and easy! Stayed at the Saga for two nights in July 2013.

The hotel is within walking distance to shopping stores, bakeries, restaurants, the Royal Palace and many other interesting venues. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and exploring the area. Parking on premises is limited but free of charge, however there are plenty of free of charge options on the street.

The rooms are good size, very clean and the Reception staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is well presented and full of choices. The lobby was a nice place to regroup every evening to make plans for next day before going back to bed. We used the complimentary coffee bar located in the lobby multiple times while getting ready to leave on our next adventure.

I will definitely recommend this hotel to the most picky of my friends and family. I would certainly stay here again on a future trip.

A good time to visit Oslo. Train ticket from airport valid on public transport for over an hour. Tram 19 from Nationaltheatre 10 minutes. Ingelborg on reception fantastic - room was great - quiet and easy access to centre. Breakfast is tremendous - varied and fresh. No hesitation staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet, large room. I found the staff accommodating and pleasant.

We had no idea the hotel was as big as it is until we saw the other guests at breakfast. It is peaceful, in a residential neighborhood but still close enough to walk to interesting sights. The staff at the front desk recommended restaurants in the neighborhood and we were very pleased with them. Lovely breakfast array as well.

Small hotel with a nice atmosphere. Quiet neighbourhood close to the Vigeland park and just a short walk to the city centre. Nice rooms, except it was a big cold and we didn't find and adjustment for the temperature. Very good breakfast. Great service. Recommended!

I am just writing this now as our stay was in April. My husband, daughter, and I stayed for one night following an overnight cruise from Copenhagen where we were getting an early train for Norway in a Nutshell the following morning. We took a cab from the ship terminal and also took a cab to the train station the next morning mainly because our train was so early. We purchased one day Oslo passes and packed in a full day of sightseeing. The tram is just a couple minutes away and was easy and efficient. We walked over to Frogner Park and the person at the desk told us about finding "Angry Boy" (which I would not have thought to look for). We had dinner in the waterfront area and took the tram back to the hotel.

Our room was not huge, but it was very quiet and comfortable, overlooking a side street. The shower was very nice with doors that fold in making the bathroom very spacious. Loved the design. Breakfast was terrific. We only had a few minutes to eat because we had to leave so early, but everything was beautifully prepared.

It was cold and rainy when we were in Oslo, so it was very relaxing to come back to such a comfortable, quiet, and welcoming small hotel.
