Wow! What a lovely, friendly, comfortable and top notch hotel! My first time in Oslo for a city break with my mum and we have recommended it to all who ask! The facade is very elegant, modern and eye catching. The staff are beyond lovely.. every single one was polite, smiling and welcoming. Amanda greeted us at the desk and we checked in within minutes, no fuss. She told us her recommendations of places to visit and how to get there. She made us feel very special and happy. Although this is an elegant hotel, we were made to feel very at home.
The room was small but lovely and minimalistic, dark colours and finished well. Bathroom spotless and everything worked. Hot powerful shower. The bed!!!! Oh the bed!!!! The softest Ive ever slept on with huge feather pillows, just a haven to snuggle into. We had room 710 on top floor so we had a wrap around balcony. We were lucky enough to have all day glorious hot weather in May so sunbathed with a glass of wine on the balcony. There is a building site opposite at the moment but I can honestly say the noise was not a problem, and the rumbling trams is actually quite a soothing sound! It has a large tv with english channels, an irning board, mini bar etc. It was cleaned every day.
Now for the food! This was the main bonus of an already lovely hotel. Coffee is served all day in the reception. Breakfast is in the adjoining bistro and oh my goodness, it is amazing! My mum stays at 5 star all inclusives usually but said that this blew them out of the water. EVERY choice is there. Greek yoghurts in little glass jars, cereals, fruits, cold cuts, herrings, sprouting veg, smoothies, breads of every style plus a big selection for a cooked breakfast. Just amazing. A huge choice of teas, coffees, juices and toppings. I was just amazed. All in the price of the hotel, served by candle light and calm music. The 'light evening meal' is served in a small cafeteria up on top floor near our room. It was actually an all you can eat 3 course buffet. It changes each night, and was lovely. Cold cuts, salads, dips, breads, a hot meal, home made soup, and a desert. Coffee, tea, infused waters etc. There is an elegant lounge attached to it after dinner and decide on the night's agenda, I loved it. I would go again. The price is low for the service and quality. Food is so expensive in Oslo that this really did asrike me as beyond expected. Cant praise it enough. And central too!!!!
