“Food was excellent!”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

My daughter just moved to Bygdøy from the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We had to try Cafe Hemma Hos because of its locale and reviews.
We were not disappointed with the quality of the food.
My daughter and I both had the focaccia sandwich of the day, which was smoked salmon on a bed of salad greens with their special dressing. The sandwich was as tasty as the presentation was beautiful.
My grandson had the kids penne pasta with a bolognese sauce.
Our sandwich was $119kr =$21.47us.
Granted pricey for a sandwich but the ambience made it worth the price. The restaurant is so adorable and quaint.
The cost, I believe, included the pleasant atmosphere to enjoy your lunch. We both enjoyed the experience tremendously.
I posted a picture of our sandwich on Facebook it was so beautiful. One has also been posted here.

“Friendly service but highly overpriced”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

Nice and cosy atmosphere.
Very small and expensive lunch menu. The worst of all was 42 Norwegian kroner for a Coke Zero. Even we as Norwegians were shocked.
Small bruchetta to 120 kroner was more like the price at Grand Hotel!

“Perfect terrace café in the spring sun”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

N59°54'14.71" E10°41'10.43" After visiting the Vikingskipshuset in May of 2011, we enjoyed coffee with chocolate cake and whipped cream in the spring sun at Café Hemma Hos tremendously. Waking up from winter hibernation and enjoying the spring sun, suddenly life was very simple and enjoyable. Brutally we were put with both feet on the ground after receiving the bill. We forgot we were in Norway.
