I stayed here for 20 days as a temporary place before I get my apartment in town. First of all, the location is nice, in the center and very convenient for new-in-towns. Also, clean and neat. However, I have some complaints. I rented an one bedroom apartment, which is very dark without sufficient light/window. In other words, a bit depressing. The most annoying part is the very poor Internet connection. I sent a complaint for this; one day after, someone came and said it is solved. But the truth is: it is far from being even improved!

We rented an apartment for three people based on reviews on TripAdvisor reviews. The review which swayed me was the one that mentioned just how much money they saved by staying here, and boy, they were right!

The Arbinsgate apartments are in a great location. Ok, it is a hassle to have to go to the other place to get the keys, but it really is no more than a 10-15 min walk. Don't make our mistake and get a taxi, it is not worth it (and cost us £20). Oslo is small enough that you can walk most places, but if you want to go further afield, the tram stop is right outside. There are also a few good amenities in the area too, including a supermarket (in the House of Oslo) and a 7/11.

The apartment itself if fine, very ikea, but overall pretty decent. The beds were good, the living area was perfect for a small group and the bathroom was nice. The TV seems to only show skiing, but I guess Norwegians like that. The amenities in the kitchen were ok, although shame it didn't have an oven, microwave or toaster - there is only so much you can make on a hob!

The best thing about the apartments were the price which was very reasonable for three people especially combined with the fact you save a fortune on food/drinking. Make no mistake, Oslo is freaking expensive. So if you can stay here and make a sandwich or have breakfast before you go out, do it!!

I would very much recommend these apartments to anyone.

Let's start with the location : very close to City Center (a few minutes walk), the bus + tram lines are a few meters away from the entrance door, and from there you can get anywhere in Oslo, including to the airport. You are also just across the road from the Royal Castle, and there is very good Italian restaurant - Ruffino (although pretty expensive, but you're in Norway !) at the corner, plus several groceries here and there. Which is good to take some of your meals at "home". The apartment itself is pretty large, 2 rooms including one large bedroom and a living room with a kitchenette. Tools for cooking were a bit short however, don't plan any elaborate cooking ! Wifi worked fine, and the flat was quiet, windows opening on an interior court, and well heated (despite -17°C outside). Finally, it was not too expensive, especially for Oslo, as we paid 129 € per night (that was in March).

One bedroom apartment - clean, good heating and hot shower, washing machine in basement, 7 Eleven round the corner, corner shop also down the road (more food varieties). Close to tram line, 5 mins walk to National Theatre Station (NTS). Cost us NOK 1800 from Oslo Gardarmeon Airport to pick up key from 7 Eleven (near apartment office) then to Arbinsgate apartment. When we left ww walked 5 mins to NTS and take Express Train. My son is under 15 so travelled for free. Train ride was only 25 mins to airport.

We spent five nights in Oslo at Frogner House Apartments, Arbinsgate 3. Yes, there was a slight hassle going to another location to register, but we had a family member driving us around.

The location is amazing. It's just steps from the Slottsparken, or Royal Palace Park. The Trikk (tram) and bus stop was also just steps away, and it was at most a 5 minute walk to the Nationaltheatre station, with its many buses, subway, trams, and trains. We also could very easily walk to Karl Johann's Gate, the main shopping street of Oslo, as well as many other attractions.

We were a family of four, two adults and two children, ages 4 and 6. The kids stayed in the bedroom, and my wife and I took the sofa-bed, which was pretty nice, for a sofa bed.

The apartment was just as advertised. Ours was a one-bedroom. The living room had a nice HDTV and modern furniture. The temperature was comfortable all the time. The kitchen had a stove and refrigerator, which worked great. There were exactly four of everything in the kitchen, plates, cups, glasses, wine glasses, forks, spoons, and knives. There were towels and bed linens provided.

The wireless internet worked perfectly. This was important, because we could easily communicate with family and friends, in and out of Norway, without paying $0.50 each text-messages.

Unlike a traditional hotel, daily cleaning and fresh linens are not included here. Neither is breakfast included, but staying here allows self-catering. And self-catering is the key to having a great visit to Norway without breaking the bank. Eating out in Norway will kill your budget.

We ordered a large pizza for take-out from Peppe's Pizza. It was delicious, but it cost $37. That is a cheap, cheap restaurant meal in Norway. We ate one other meal at a restaurant, Burger King. It was about $30, and we ate low on the menu. A Whopper combo meal is about $13. Grocery store food is not cheap, compared to America, but it's way cheaper than eating out.

Our six-year old lost a tooth while we were there. In Norway, when you lose a tooth, you put it into a glass of water, and it changes into money. This was just one of many great memories from our trip to visit family in Norway.

We loved our stay at Frogner House, and we would stay there again without a doubt.

Room Tip: Some rooms probably have a better view, but they would also be louder. We had an interior courtyard...

We just came back from a 3 night stay at arbinsgate 3. Location is good as it is well connected with the airport by the express train, close also to tram and bus and you can go walking to the harbour and city center. The area is quiet as well but unfortunately we had an interior apartment on the first floor which was not only quite dark but also pretty loud at 5:00 am or 6:00 am when the big van comes to pick up the trash. The small kitchen with high chairs looks cool but it's not too convenient when you travel with small kids, they have to eat at the table on the sofa. Keep in mind especially if you arrive late at night or with heavy luggage, that check in is at skovveien 8 (about 5-10 min walking from the apartment). Price was also not that cheap (200€ per night) but that's Norway.

They have different locations in the city. If you are checking in late, that is after 11PM, then they will leave the key packet at its nearby 7eleven shop. But they forgot breakfast slips in that. so the next day we had to call after 8AM and they sent it in a minute. Check and remind them about it in advance, if you are also checking in late, that is arriving from Flam by last train.

Room Tip: They have different locations in the city. If you are checking in late, that is after 11PM, then the...
