Owner description: The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life.

The grounds were gorgeous and the statues were amazing! They also have places to eat in the vicinity where you can eat outdoors and enjoy the scenic views. We purchased a sandwich at a nearby snack shop and ate sitting on a park bench in the shade (it was a hot day) and enjoyed the beauty surrounding us.

We spent a couple hours wandering the park, enjoying the very unique sculptures. Well worth the visit.

I only had a 1/2 day in Oslo and this was one of the attractions we made sure to hit. The sculptures are all naked and in bizarre poses. I'm sure an art appreciation person would enjoy this for different reasons than a group of mid-twenties friends, but we had a great time imitating the poses for photos. The park itself is HUGE, and was nice to see so much green (especially since our hostel was in the city center, which is quite bustling). There is a tram that goes straight there from the central station, so it's easy enough to get to.
I would recommend at least a quick stop here, and there was a cafe on site that we saw (but did not partake because of our schedule).

Not something I enjoyed. The sculptures are a big attraction of the famous Vigeland park but the park itself is much more enjoyable than the sculptures.

We liked the sculptures and the park. The sculptures were excellent and the eye for detail was evident. A very neat garden added to the beauty.
