Though small this is a fascinating & informative museum. The history of the expeditions, the rafts on display & the story of Easter Island all superbly displayed

My children really loved this place, especially after seeing the new Kon-Tiki movie. The museum gives hommage to the explorer and world citizen Thor Heyerdahl, and has Kon-Tiki inside (yes the original one) :)

It is very dark in the exhibit room. They have a great display. Pictures show them at sea and news articles which are very interesting and some are funny. Its hard to imagine that this "raft" actually faring the weather & storms. They have great artifacts also. it is located next to the Fram museum. I really like this museum, just looking at the "raft" makes you wonder how they made it. true explorers.

This should be higher on the list if places to see in Oslo. It's next to the Fram Polar Ship Museum so if you have the Oslo pass and are in the area, it's another one which gives you entry and well worth a visit.

The stories are interesting, funny and makes you really want to know about the heroic people involved. Don't worry if you're not into boat, the human aspect will keep you hooked!

They have replica of the Kon-Tiki and artefacts from the voyage including short movies about Thor Heyerdahl and his crew. Very informative museum. Our 3 kids (23,19,14) loved it.
Came home with Heyerdahl's book which I read 40 years ago!
It's located very close to the Viking Museum or you can take ferry to next stop, no extra charge.
