The collection is too big for the old building and will move in a year to s big new modern place at the harbor. For now, there are lines to enter especially on a rainy weekend afternoon . The Munch and Dahl collections are good and the cafe is charming.

The place to find substantial works on these Norwegian artists. Easily accessible by tram, we walked right in at 10 am. An excellent collection of regional artists.

They include a fairly wide variety of artists in their collection. We lucked out as it is free on Thursdays and it was not crowded. It is in a location that is easy to reach and Oslo seems to be a very walkable city. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it as a sight to visit (if you’re an art lover) in Oslo!

A wonderful museum featuring many Norwegian artists that were unknown to us along with Munch. Also has a number of works by Cezanne, Renoir, Monet and Matisse. This is definitely worth a couple of hours especially on a rainy day. You will be amazed by the quality and variety of works by excellent Norwegian masters.

We went here to see the Munch ‘Scream’ - it was great to see. Museum was crowded but this is about all we had time to do.
