“NOT A 4* HOTEL”
Reviewed 5 May 2013

In line with many previous reviews, the hotel does not match expectations as having a worn-out appearance (furniture, stained bathroom walls etc) and very basic service.Room size is descent, but there is only one socket in the room and no bathmat in the bathroom, lighting is also poor! Taking the lift to the 34 floor and then many flights of stairs up can bring you to a tiny "gym" with a gorgeous view, and a small pool. Breakfast buffet is standard but lame, generously extended to 10:30 on weekends (!), but they start clearing up at 10:15 already. Coffee is a suspicious liquid. The breakfast room has both the feeling and appeaance of a canteen. Flexibility is also mirrored by the fact that the 34th floor restaurant and bar are closed on Sundays!
Pros: location - 5 min to the main station with an express connection to the airport, friendly receptionists, no nouse. More an umergeny solution than a cozy place to stay.

Functional hotel conveniently located close to the central station. Reception desk personnel is kind and efficient. Internet connection speed is very good. Rich buffet breakfast. Only caveat that I found was the temperature in the room was too cold by my standard.

This is one of the best hotels in town, so if you are looking for a better option, you do not have one, just hang in there waiting for a better day. To go to the gym you have to take the elevator to the 33rd floor and then walk up to the 37th, through a labyrint of stairs and different doors. The gym is very small, there were two treadmills only, they were occupied so I had to come back later to use one (it was 9:00 p.m.). These treadmills were modern but very basic and looked like home equipment, not the ones typically found at gyms and hotels. Rooms are OK but nothing impressive. Food quality from room service is good and the staff in general is friendly and efficient. The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast buffet on the 22nd floor, really good.

Room Tip: I had a more expensive business room on the 30th floor. Do not bother to pay more for such rooms, it...

The only reason we chose this hotel was that we arrived at night and the airport bus stops here. Didnt want to stay near the train station, because it was a bit lousy. The room was spacious but worn out. Breakfast buffet was lame. Nothing was terribly bad, but nothing impressive. Don't expect any hint of modern luxury from this hotel. Location was not bad. Mostly within walking distances.

This hotel very nice and modern. Distance to Oslo S (central station) 2 min walking and to the centre 5 min. Possible to come by car and park it at the hotel. Has a sky-bar, gym, swimming pool and an excellent view.

This hotel is really close to both the buss and train station in Oslo, takes you less than 5 minutes from A to B. You have also access to the metro just on the other side of the street, to catch a tram you have take a few more steps, but can't say it's far off either.

The building is pretty tall and if you're lucky you will get a nice view from your room. The rooms are pretty much Radisson standards. Wish I could say the same about the price, but this is in Norway. You'll pay from 160 EUR to 190 EUR for a room, and I can't help but feel that it isn't enough value for the euro.

Besides that everything is peachy, good bed, bathroom, tv, safe, and a lobby bar for those who wish to try their luck.

When visiting you should try the indoor swimming pool on and sauna on the top floor, it opens at six, or seven, great for after party chill out, but remember to behave, this is Norway.

Room Tip: Ask for a nice view!

I have stayed a couple of times at Radisson Blu Plaza and the hotel always meet myexpectations. The location at walking distance from the train station where the aiport train arrives is very good. That way one do not have to start to look for a taxi first thing. The rooms are nice, the bar is very nice and there is a good pub next to the hotel. I would reccomend this hotel both for business and vacation trips. I will surely stay there again.
