I knew when I reserved rooms at this hotel that it was located near the train station, but it's location offered more than I expected. Because of it's proximity to the central station, it is also a hub for the buses and trams. We could walk outside the hotel and catch public transportation wherever we wanted to go in Oslo, making the city so much more accessible to us. I got Oslo passes for everyone in our group, and it was well worth the investment.
The hotel is basic, but clean. The service from the front desk was very responsive. Breakfast at Egon was one of the best breakfast buffets we experienced in our 2-week trip to Norway.
The only 'con' was that we couldn't control the temp in the room, which was unfortunate since there was a heat wave at the time. I think that a lot of hotels in Norway do not have air conditioning.More
