One of the worst staff I ever meet! When we check in they offer us another room then way we ask for! After they give us a very nice room, with great view, but the cleaning was awful! The bath was prepared just for one visitor and we were two! Nothing change in 4 days, evan if we ask for! The restaurant have two starter (one is a soup) and three main course....and is call a la carte! When we ask for fruits at room service they offer us just pizza! The cleaning in the room during our stay was invisible....dust everywhere....price for this services....HUGE......WORST PERSONAL A EVER MEET!!! GREAT position, but far away from everything! We traveled by car and it was not a big problem, but even with the car, there are 9 km to the centre!

Room Tip: Try another hotel....

This is a very nice hotel outside Oslo. It is different looking and best part is its location. It is near Oslo but far from the crowd. It is very close to train station and very convenient to take a train to Oslo, spend the day there and come back in the evening. It has really good restaurants though costly. The view is excellent. Overall a very nice hotel and great choice if you are planning to visit Oslo.

Located above Oslo, adjoining the Olympic ski jump ramp, that Eddie the eagle went off,it can be seen from miles away.Must be a great sight when there is snow. The 'Dragon Style' makes a very attractive first impression, reminded me of 'Thai' style, apparently it is mediaeval Norwegian.
We had a lovely sunny evening and enjoyed having a beer outside the hotel. Comfortable room and good breakfast. But, as we were on a motorbike tour, and got there quite late, a set meal was ordered for us all,it was a great disappointment, infact it was rubbish! never had time to use facilities, but, was told the pool was very small. It is 90miles from Larvik.

When staying in Oslo, I would absolutly stay here! You get the nature, the view, and the experience of an old Norwegian tree hotel- full of living history. Perfect! Great service aswell! And, not too far away from the city center. The subway is just a 5 minute walk!

The hotel is situated out of the centre of Oslo, near the Holmenkollen ski jump. From the rooms (probably only those looking on the city), you have a magnificent view on the city. There is a good subway-connection with the city centre (line 1 to the national theatre brings you right in the centre). The garage is expensive (150 nok per 24 hours), but there is a free parking a view hundred meters further. (for security reasons we choose the garage, but apparently security seems not a problem on the public parking).
The room itself is very spacious and sound proof. The wireless internet works very well, but uses a conference code. So everyone has the same access-code. In our case the access-code changed during the night, which obliges to ask a new access code.
The breakfast is very, very huge.
The only problem is that rooms are strictly not free before 15 hour.

For me it is The hotel for visiting Oslo, although you are not in the centre and need a 20 minutes subway.

As all the reviews point out, the Holmenkollen Park Hotel is outside of Oslo. Rough estimates would be a brisk 5 minute walk to the T-Bane station then 20 minutes to Majorstuen. Didn't try it, but knowing prices here I wouldn't recommend taking a taxi! I booked as almost everything closer to the centre was full and was very happy I did. The hotel, the views and the atmosphere were all great. Rooms large and comfortable, breakfast good but very busy. Fantastic pathways around the surrounding area for running (summer only). I'll make this my first choice for Oslo trips in the future.

The Homenkollen Park Rica Hotel is located out of the city at the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump. It is relatively east to get to via the T Barn (tram) this is the best way otherwise a taxi will cost you 100€ from the city. Be warned the walk up to the hotel is an exercise especiallynif you have suitcases like we did. You will find a taxi rank at the bottom of the hill and I suggest you use that if there is one there. If not then there is some stairs via the carpark to the left of the road.
The hotel room is brilliant and is one of the best I have stayed at in Europe. Very modern but no view. I overheard another guest being checked in who had received a complimentary upgrade, I suggest you ask when you check in.
The food available seemed rather limited at first. We had the buffet which was excellent value despite costing 60€ each. The next night we had pizza in their other restaurant which was delicious. The night we had dinner in the main buffet restaurant there was a coach that had been parked blocking the view. Would be good if they had a 10 minute parking zone as the view is fabulous.
The foyer was being done up on the third day we were there which was disappointing as they turned their amazing ice sculture off which is a great feature of their foyer.
The breakfast had an excellent selection, the largest I have ever seen. The only bad comment I have on the hotel is that the breakfast staff need to learn how to smile. Appeared that service staff were just going through the motions and may be a reflection on the manager who also looked very unhappy.
