We checked in on a Saturday and was given room 419. When we opened the door and went inside we discovered that there was a suitcase and personal properties in the room as someone still was using the room. We went back to the reception and was then given another room- 402. This room was in the old building and facing the road (which had almost no traffic).
When unpacking we discovered that the soap dispenser in the shower was empty and open. The baseboard on the floor was not attached to the wall, the "Whats on" sheet in the information folder showed an agenda for activities for 2012 (almost two years old), the bathroom was not cleaned, the windowsill was in a desperate need of paint...etc Take a look at the pictures so you may judge it yourself (the pictures will be added shortly). There were no ventilation in the room, so you have to open the window in order to get some air.
The atmosphere in the hotel is nice, and the food is very good. It was a pleasant suprise that they serve evening food free of charge.
The area is very quite and the surrondings are nice. However we have stayed in hotels which are much better than this. The hotel needs to be upgraded at least in the old main building. Unfortunately we was looking forward to a nice stay at the hotel, but our expectations were not met, mostly due to the room.
