We were skeptical at first, found a pretty good deal through 'Norway in a Nutshell' and all reviews pointed to an outdated hotel outside the city center. The first night we stayed we had a great modern room on the first floor in the back which was absolutely perfect since we needed to have a quick nap and nice shower. The bathroom was WOW and the room was oohhh, ahhh.
We then came back a couple of days later and had a room on the second floor. The room was comparable to 1st floor, but the bathroom was old, ugly, and dim. C'est la vie. The rate was a little cheaper.
The best thing about this hotel is it's location in the very quiet embassy district. The hotel is easy to walk to once you have your bearings- less than a mile from the train station. They had a really good breakfast and light evening meal, every assortment of coffee/espresso, tea, fruit flavored waters available around the clock. This hotel also stored our luggage as we went out on Norway in a Nutshell tour. They had everything we needed and we found it very comfortable. We'd stay here again.
