This hotel is set in the embassy area of Oslo and the diplomatic atmosphere has rubbed off. The staff are attentive and welcoming and the various lounge/eating areas are extremely comfortable. Our room was a good size and very quiet at night. The room bar was stocked with wines and beers at a reasonable price. The beds were very comfortable. There was a wardrobe to store your clothes. The only jarring note in the room was the rather strange positioning of the luggage rack attached to the wall right next to the bed which could prove problematical for someone getting up in the middle of the night. The hotel appears to be 'out of town' a bit. It's a 15 minute walk into the centre. But once you get the hang of the trams (no 13) then this issue disappears. The hotel invites you to make your own waffles in the afternoon and hot/cold drinks are on offer free all day. The so called 'light meal' in the evening, which comes in the price for the room, was excellent with a generous offering of cold dishes and a hot dish of the day with a choice of fish or meat. This is a really classy hotel suitable for the tourist or business visitor to this very nice city.
Tip: The City Hall is a gruesome looking place on the outside but well worth a visit to the stately rooms inside. Also has excellent loos.
