During one of the last days of our brief tour among the Scandinavian countries, I and my friends were in Oslo, affected by the worst type of homesickness (15 days in the cold nordic spring and in foreign lands tend to have this effect!). To be short, we had few money, we were hungry and in a bad mood. So we were looking at some cheap place to have a quick meal. To our surprise we found in the city centre of the capital this place "Roald & Umberto", an italian little pub (the Italian flag permitted no doubts!). Finally real pasta (spaghetti), not the fake one overcooked!!, farro, gnocchi "alla sorrentina" (with tomatosauce and mozzarella), bruschettas. And "birra Moretti", a well known beer in Italy! How can't you feel at home with that menu? Also the atmosphere were unique. The place is quite tiny and gives you a sense of familiarity, confirmed by the kindness of waiters and all the crew. In fact we had a little chat (in Italian obviously!) with Dino the owner (He had nerve to expat in Norway from Naples!). Wish I could come back again in the future!!

Amazing food and really nice atmosphere. Waiters were really friendly and the Carbonara was just the best I have ever had in town in years!

I read a review in a norwegian newspaper on internet and they gave this restaurant 5/6. When we got the food I was wondering if we had gone to the wrong restaurant!
We eat a lot out, and have never felt so dissapointed!
The pizza looked like it have been bought frozen in a store nearby and warmed up. There was plenty (to much!) of tomato sauce that made the (very thick) crust soaked. The sausage was good and spicy though.
The Carbonara was a disaster. Worst I have ever tasted. There was pasta (taglitelle) in a bath in separated cream (I was wondering if it was old, og warmed up twice) The limited bacon was almost only fat.

The service was very limited, but ok. Two younger people serving. Not a smile or thank you.

The only positive is the restaurant it self, atmosphere and music made it cozy.

We paid the bill, left and will never return. This is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. I am so glad there are so many other good options.

A little piece of Italy in the center of Oslo. When you enter in the restaurant you can feel a realy comfortable. The food is very good, I took some delicious appetizers and and pasta with Gorgonzola. The taste of the food is really Italian. Dino and all the people work there are really nice.
