“Super!”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

We really enjoyed our tour of Ibsen's home and were intrigued by a large metal key in a glass cabinet which was apparently given to Ibsen by the King and unlocks the gate to a Royal Park. If you are a fan of Ibsen's work then you won't be disappointed. The guides are friendly and knowledgable.

“An honest account of Ibsen”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

Within walking distance of downtown Oslo, the Ibsen Museum is worth a visit - particularly if you can get in for free with the Oslo pass. I found it interesting and refreshingly honest in its account of Ibsen as an immensely talented but flawed individual.

“Nicely done apartment tour, together with a good exhibition.”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

This was two part visit. The first is an exhibition with a lot about Ibsen, his family, his life and his writing. The second is the tour of the apartment in Oslo where he lived for the remainder of his life after returning to Norway.

Both are very interesting regardless of your previous knowledge of Ibsen or his work.

Make sure to see the painting in his study, over the fire place, of his arch enemy. It's stunning.

“Ibsen as you have never seen him. A must see for Ibsen fans.”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

This short but interesting tour of Ibsen's apartment home shows aspects of his life you may not know about. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and is done in English. There is also a very interesting exhibit about his life and works. This is a must see for Ibsen fans.

“Fascinating tour of Ibsen home and a museum”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

It isn't necessary to be familiar with Ibsen's writings to enjoy this museum. The home which is across the street from the Royal Palace is a piece of history. Our tour guide was a theatre major at the University so she shared some fascinating history about Ibsen and his family and friends. The museum is a self guided experience and not all of the exhibits are in English. Small gift shop.
