The location is perfect for exploring Oslo. It's a 10 minute walk from Oslo central station if you take the express train. If you take the SAS bus from Gardemoen, the bus stop is right outside the hotel.
The lounge is comfortable, lots of chesterfield sofas and armchairs to sit on your own in groups. There is a pianist at certain times of the day. The rooms are nice, comfortable, clean and adequately sized. I put a note on my booking asking for a bathtub - and got it.
I had a double bed, but with two single duvets; as I has the bed to myself, I would have preferred a double duvet. there was a small table with two upholstered chairs in the room, a wardrobe (with shelves too) and an iron plus ironing board.
There was no kettle or any tea-making facilities in the room, nor was there are useable fridge. the only fridge was a mini-bar which would charge automatically if you moved anything.
Breakfast was included in my tariff, so I do not know the price. I do know, however, that it was a very good selection! There were cold meats, fish, cheeses, crudities. A selection of bread, cookies and pastries, waffles with All The Toppings and hot breakfast items on top of that. there were cards on the table that said if you needed anything else, ask the chef! Staff came round to pour coffee refills; that was a nice touch.
There were couple of areas where the hotel could improve. The gym/spa/wellbeing place is not accessible by lift (elevator). In order to get to the gym, you have to go to the third floor then take the stairs three floors down.
Some people might say taking the stairs to go exercise is no problem however, people with reduced mobility need there their exercise too! I suffer from chronic pain and after a couple of days of trying to use the gym, I gave up.
the gym itself was a disappointment too. it was a tiny space so all the machines are crammed together. There was a multi-use resistance machine that took up a lot of space but it was broken! The dumbbells were stowed in a corner and there was precious little floor space to do any free weights. The same went for the exercise mats, stored in another corner.
I would consider staying at Hotel Bristol again, for the location and the courteous staff but really, they need to fix the accessibility situation.
