When you walk into this hotel you will be immediately impressed with the beautiful lobby. It has the ambiance and old world charm of a bygone era. In the book lined library bar in the lobby it's impossible not to check out the all old books. I saw some fascinating titles, unfortunately all in Norwegian. In your room you will find a large contemporary bathroom with plenty of space on the counter for your toiletries and makeup and there is a hair dryer. The room is totally clean and with jetlag nagging at your eyelids you will not be disappointed by the comfortable bed. Our window looked out towards a courtyard with no real view but plenty of natural light. There were two comfortable chairs and a table so when you are in the room during the day you don't have to sit awkwardly on the bed, but that bed is so wonderful you really might want to go ahead and lay down again. My fiance and I had four suitcases between us and we were able to stow them without difficult because there was plenty of room. The location is excellent and we were able to walk to all the Oslo hotspots in central Oslo. The staff were very helpful orienting us and showing us how to get to the mass transit to reach the Viking museum. The best part of the Hotel Bristol is definitely the breakfasts! When you go to Norway you will notice how expensive EVERYTHING is, so you can really pack it in with the extensive breakfasts. They serve the breakfast in a lovely restaurant with the buffet spread in an adjoining room. I think there is something for every taste, I personally loved the waffles and crepes. And the waffles are freshly made and placed out on the buffet unlike the other hotels which make you pour your own batter. With all these good attributes I can't imagine a better place to stay. It is a wonderful hotel and you can't go wrong in choosing Bristol.
