Just returned home after a most enjoyable stay at this hotel.
The "old style" with all modern amenities makes this hotel particular for me. Big and most quiet room (spotless and well equiped, soft and comfortable large bed!).
The buffet breakfast was wonderful with lot of choice, it's not available directly but the hot chocolate is outstanding, just ask the staff.
All employees were really nice and friendly. The location is right in the center of Oslo and the SAS bus stop to the airport is just on the next door. It cannot be more convenient to go out the City and back, and out again...
I read several review about noise in the street. I was there during the football/soccer world cup and also during a nice summer weekend. I did not see/hear any loud people or any noisy activity in the streets around the hotel (before, after the games or whenever...) from afternoon to late night.
I would definitly try to go back!

The Bristol Hotel is well situated for visiting Oslo as it is close to everything in the centre. No more than a 10min stroll to the harbour, train station, the Palace etc.
The hotel is absolutely stunning inside, beautiful sumptuous furnishings, top class service on reception and whilst dining. No complaints at all!
Our room on the forth floor was beautiful, clean and cool with almost everything we could possibly need, including an iron and ironing board and a good size safe. There was however no tea or coffee making facilities in our room?
There was also no view but that to be honest didn't matter. We only stayed one night, just wish we had stayed for longer!
Breakfast offered a vast choice to suit every dietary need, and served in the most beautiful dining room (I think due to the Grill area being refurbished when we stayed)?
We had lunch in the reception bar area - the open sandwiches and cakes were works of art! The wine was priced as we expected - expensive compared to the UK - but the Sancerre was the perfect accompaniment to the cray fish sandwiches.
The Spa area was relaxing and had a sauna, plunge pool, sunbed and gym.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again when we next visit. We would describe this hotel as a very classy and classic hotel with sumptuous decor.

Hotel Bristol has old world charm with all the modern things that travelers want. The rooms are large and this includes the bathroom. Large tub with good water pressure, double sinks, etc. Safe in room, wifi, and television with English channels. Great location can walk to all the tourist places.

This is an excellent, relaxed hotel. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and exceptionally quiet. Breakfast was of a good quality, with a wide choice of food and, despite a large number of guests, the breakfast area managed to retain the atmosphere of a smaller establishment. Highly recommended.

Hotel Bristol has a great athmosphere. It is an oasis in the midst of the centre of Oslo with nice interior. Good service and wonderful breakfast.I enjoyed my stay - nice room and comfortable bed.
In the centre of the city and still quiet. What more do you want?

We had the opportunity to stay in 3 separate hotels during our recent visit to Oslo. This one rates highly for location as it is within short walking distance of many center city attractions and is close to the underground (T-bahn) access for traveling elsewhere in Oslo. The airport bus literally stops in front of the hotel. The hotel bar and common areas are exceptionally well-appointed. The rooms are good size for Europe and the breakfast spread was fantastic with traditional Norwegian fare including various fish offerings, cheese, cereals, and hot grill items. Great value for the location!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with our 4 month old son: the location is excellent and the rooms were very spacious although the decor and furnishings were dated. The common areas have a ton of old world charm and character and the breakfast was excellent (avoiding the need for a costly afternoon meal). Staff were courteous and helpful, but be warned the cleaning/mini-bar stocking staff DO NOT KNOCK, they just open the door and say "hello" (happened 2 times in the first hour we were there so we finally just put out the "do not disturb" sign and that solved the problem). The travel cot provided had an excellent mattress and would be large enough for a toddler (bigger than American pack and plays).

Drawbacks were the rooms lacked air con (probably not needed the vast majority of the time) and we couldn't keep the door to the balcony open due to understandable noise from the street below (we live in London and unlike other reviewers we did not find the noise level at all excessive for a city centre!!).

We thought the hotel was a good European 4* hotel and would happily recommend it to people who want charm and location.
