“Simple restaurant with good Western African food” 4 of 5 bubbles
Review of Cafe Afrikaden

Cafe Afrikaden
Ranked #699 of 1,405 Restaurants in Oslo
Description: The Center for Promotion of African Culture (CAK) has been a little piece of Africa in Oslo for almost 30 years. At the CAK you find Café Afrikaden, which serves African and Caribbean/Creole dishes. The African continent is the source of a number of spices and nutricious products, that have formed the basis of a gastronomic creativity passed down through generations of women. African cuisine is perhaps less known than food from other continents, but that doesn't make it any less exciting. Come and taste for yourself! Closed during the summer holidays.

“Simple restaurant with good Western African food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2013

Cafe Afrikaden is a very simple casual place. It is part of the African cultural centre and has interesting brochures about ongoing events regarding this part of Africa (Western Africa).
The food is really simple and really good. The staff is lovely and friendly. One feels easily at home there.

“Superb East African restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2012

Nice easy going restaurant, just a short cut outside of downtown, at Bislet.

You can choose from either meat, fish or a vegetarian dish.
Very tasteful, made from the ground and very fresh. A mix of East African and Creole kitchen. Open daily from 16:00 - 21:00 and Saturdays 14:00 - 22:00.

The atmosphere is simple and open, with a lot of coulorful elements. Not the perfect place for a date, but good to eat with friends or colleagues.

The place is a east african cultural center. In the evening they have different dance courses, concert among other things
