“City hall”
Reviewed 12 August 2013 via mobile

Interesting building, where part of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is preformed. Murals in the great hall depict historical scenes of life in Norway as well as some of their philosophy. Well worth having a guide explain the significance of the paintings as it gives them greater depth.

“Great free attraction to visit”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

Great free attraction to visit. Make sure you come in the front entrance and see the wood carvings depicting scenes from Norwegian folklore. I found these very interesting, and the carvings alone made the visit worthwhile. All of the interior walls are covered with local murals which are colorful and add a unique charm. The main hall has a historical significance since it is used for the Nobel Peace Prize Presentations. Don’t miss walking around upstairs and seeing the interior rooms. Also, don’t miss the Edward Munch painting on the 2nd floor.

“Not just a government building”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

The art and history contained within and on the outside leading to the entrance make this a worthwhile visit. A chance to learn about the history of the area through art.
