Owner description: The river Akerselva runs from Maridalsvannet through the centre of Oslo and into the Oslo Fjord. The river is 8 km of recreation, through forests and industrial history, fishing, swimming and several waterfalls. The highest waterfall is next to Honse-Lovisas hus (a small, red house) and the Beier bridge.

Resembling the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas somewhat.
I can imagine this place being vibrant with people during summer when the surrounding trees are lush and green.

Get yourself up to Maridalsvannet. The main supplier of drinking water to the city of Oslo. Walk by the river. Take a swim in the summer. Experience the transgression from countryside to city life within the hour.
Beautiful !
And end the trip in Oslo’s ‘far east’. (mostly people from mid east. Lots of nikab’s)
Eastern enviroment (have a kebab with the locals)
It’ really different, and tells a story about Oslo’s modern development.
Just do it !

We had a most enjoyable and relaxing walk along this area. Seeing the modern architecture and water mix. Clean and tidy in the fresh winter's air.

A strawl from Kjelsås or Nydalen down to the city center is always nice. Bus 54 is a good option, and walk back.

and you can tailor your trip according to how energetic you are feeling. And if it all gets too much, or it starts to rain, there is always a bus or tram handy to get you back again
