This is a wonderful little hotel in the heart of Oslo. Firstly, the location is fantastic and is comfortable walking distance to most of Oslo city centres points of interest. The staff were very friendly and considerate and made us feel at ease straight away. The room we stated in was a superior (arguable) double and it was a more than adequate size for a city centre short break, the place was clean, well presented and everything was in working order. The price was very reasonable for a city where the cost of everything is so high. The hotel was fantastic, as for Oslo (if you haven't been before); bring your chequebook folks because it will cost you a small fortune.

Right in the middle of town, no frills hotel. Great bed, tight space, ultrafast WiFi. Great bargain with the option to make your own breakfast- grocery shop across the street open 07-23. Rooms facing the back little daylight , but less streetnoise so an open window with a quiet night is quite nice.

Stayed in October 2013.

Friendly staff - let us check in early!

Nice clean room - very comfy bed. TV in room.

Good power shower.

Breakfast costs 95NOK pp/pd.

Let us store our bags on our check out day as we had a late flight back.

Hotel is located right in the centre of Oslo, 2 minute walk from the Palace, City Hall, Harbor.

Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Room Tip: Stayed in a superior double.

This hotel is not for people who like proper hotel rooms. That said, the hotel has many advantages. The hotel is located 5-7 mins walking from the royal palace, central shopping lane, only 3-4 mins walking from national theatre station for trains and 9-10 mins walking from central station. It simply means that the hotel has a super location and its location sort of diminishes other disadvantages.

The rooms are small, like really really small, feels more like a hostel and most of the rooms are made of gypsum boar, with one-two concrete walla but at the price they offer and where they are located, I am not complaining. Nearby hotels were easily 2 times or more than that expensive that this one. The hotel is new and clean. Check in and check out was quick.

Took the NSB train to national theatre station, from airport train station platform 4, as suggested by another reviewer here in TA, and the tip/ advise was bang on and very appropriate. Train fare is 90 NOK per adult as compared to very expensive iflytoget and normal train take hardly 10 mins extra than iflytoget.

National Theater train stop is about 27-30 mins from the airport by train. All in all, would stay here only for its price and location. People who detest small rooms with closed views, be warned to stay here. I give this hotel a 4, only for its super central location and price.

Also I would like to thank Janne-Therese Berndtsen for extremely professional and prompt assistance. We had made a booking a day before arriving into Oslo from Iceland and wanted a confirmation from Smart Hotel Oslo confirming out booking. Janne-Therese Berndtsen, almost immediately replied and saved us a lot of anxious moment. Thank you!!!

Room Tip: People who detest small rooms with closed views, be warned to stay here.

This is a brand new hotel, very centrally located! cleane, nice and modern. The bedroom was very small but well thought; you have a chair, TV, a desk, a super comfy bed and a small shower room. The breakfast was actually very good - lots of cold cuts, cereals, friuts etc. But if you are looking for space think twice. But it is cheap 725 NOK or 81£ (singel room), that is really a good price.

This hotel is an economy hotel and offers little extra services or amenities to its guests - perfect when you really dont need more than a bed for the night! The hotel is brand new in 2013 and looks great. The room we had was small, (we even had the deluxe room) but had a very nice sized bathroom. Problably serves as a good room for handicapped I think. The room had a nice doublebed, a desk, a flatscreen and storage for our suitcases. Nice and bright room, but not a great view. We had a window facing a kind of courtyard inside the hotel, on the 5th floor. Like I said, if you care about such things, dont get a room here. We thought this hotel was perfect for us as we only stayed one night visiting Oslo for a concert - perfect! We will definately visit here again, cheap and clean nice room!!

Room Tip: Probably a good idea to upgrade to a superior room or deluxe, whatever they called it, if you need s...

Stay at this hotel just 10 days after opening so everything's new !
Very well located, ultra clean, excellent and helpful efficient service. Very good price.
Amazing and generous breakfast buffet with quality local fresh food

Because the hotel just opened, there's a little issues to fix like planning more food for all the breakfast duration and complete choice (not chocolate milk !).

The only thing you have to know, it's that it's a very minimalist hotel ; so the rooms are really small and it's impossible to be 2 in the same time in the bathroom !
Also no storage for clothes.

Was here with a friend for 2 nights, so the space was ok, but not sure for a longer stay.

Would definitely go back to this hotel if alone and for a short stay.
