“Very functional, small rooms, great location.”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Location is excellent, the Flybussen from the airport leaves you 1 block away, and it is just blocks away from many of the highlights in Oslo.
Rooms are VERY small, but functional and the hotel is new. The bathroom is very tight, just barely functional.
The premises in general and decoration of the rooms is very pleasant, modern. A good value for money, very practical, would not recommend for a prolonged stay (maybe there are larger rooms for a higher price?). Service is good, but lots of self service is encouraged. Ingeneral, good money for value, very clean, new practical.

This hotel is really cool. Location couldn't be better. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Rooms are clean, beds super comfy. and yes the rooms are small. Didn't bother me. A true bargain in a super expensive city.

We've stayed here for two nights on our weekend at Oslo. This hotel has got an amazing location, you're literally 2 minutes from the Royal palace and the main street Karl Johans IV gate.I gather it's quite new which can be seen in its exterior and clean&smart&functional interior. There's a lounge area, two computers for internet, breakfast area and quite a number of rooms. You can check in at the reception but there's also self check- in via two check -in computers. You can pay extra 99 krona for breakfast but we thought it was a bit pricey and opted instead for a breakfast from Kiwi supermarket which is just across the street ( but opens at 9 am on Saturday and doesn't work on Sunday). So, we had a room on the 6 th floor, the back side of the hotel, we had a very nice view of the city hall. The room is really tiny but you have everything you need so if you're staying for a weekend it should be enough. There's a small bed (a double bed), a fold out desk, a chair, TV on the wall above the bed so you can watch it while lying , there's no wardrobe but a couple of hooks and three tiny shelves. The bathroom is also super tiny, with a shower, wc, and washbasin, and hair dryer. There wasn't cleaning service cause it was the weekend, so we didn't get new towels the next day, but I think you can pay extra for cleaning if i remember correctly. We got great price on the hotel, and supposedly it's cheaper in Oslo for weekend than during the week, and April is actually still low season for Oslo too, so we were really pleased with the price and the location of the hotel. This hotel reminded me a bit of the Travelodge chain of hotels in UK.

The room was really small, but it was just enough. All important things were there: a table, a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom with a nice shower, darkening curtains (comes in handy during summer), … Breakfast was really fine with very good waffles! :)

A wonderful bed, good food, clean, clever, fresh and modern.
Very near centrum of Oslo if you would like that, and still a quiet area for a good night sleep.
I loved the breakfast, and that you can make your own waffles...
I love it!! Thank you for a good stay...

Room Tip: I had a room at the back, and it was very quiet.

We stayed here for a couple of days which was great for exploring Oslo. Not too expensive (for Oslo standards) yet very comfortable and clean. No unnecessary extras are included to keep costs down which suited us on a budget! Room was cosy but functional and windows that opened which was good! Friendly and helpful staff and you can rent bikes from reception if you like. Breakfast was more on the expensive side so we ventured out and had something at one of the many cafés in Oslo. Would recommend for a short stay in Oslo city.

Had a lovely time at the Smarthotel. It was relatively well-priced for Oslo, and well located, but the room was literally the smallest room I've ever slept in. We laughed when we entered, it was so small. The staff were friendly and the hotel was in walking distance to downtown and major bus and train hubs.
