“Great place for a stroll and a bite to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

My parents, husband, and I took a stroll around Aker Brygge since it was on the hop on-hop off tour and my friend suggested the area. I'm glad we took my friend's advice -- the Aker Brygge area was great for people watching! Since my stepdad's stomach wasn't feeling so good, we ate at Friday's (I know, I know, why eat at an American restaurant in Norway), but the cheese sticks and salad were to die for, especially in the heat, and we got 20% off using our hop on-hop off ticket!! There are many restaurants in the area, most of which had great views of the harbor. The Aker Brygge area is across the harbor from the Akershus Castle and Fortress and right next to the Nobel Peace Center. While walking around Aker Brygge, we saw many sculptures and inlets, which were pretty cool. There seemed to be quite a lot of construction in the area, but it didn't keep us from people watching. We never saw anyone swimming though. I'd highly suggest a stroll and a bite to eat in this area!

“Cool place to hang out in nice weathers”

If the weather is nice i recommend to take a stroll in this posh place and have a bite, drinks or an ice cream by the water. There are nice reasturants and bars around.

Here you can for example eat, drink, get entertainment, watch people, watch sculptures, take a swim, or take a look at the new district Tjuvholmen with impressive buildings close to the sea. When sun is shining it is popular to sit and drink at one of the bars close to the water. At aker brygge you can see the anchor of Blücher a nazi boat that was sank by the norwegians in the Oslofjord.

“Great atmosphere on a lovely day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

We visited Aker Brygge a number of times over the weekend, to walk, have an ice cream and eat meals. Every time there were lots of people around creating an excellent atmosphere. There are lots of restaurants to choice from. We are at Louise's and had an excellent meal.

This is a must for all visitors, some people will tell you it's more expensive than city centre but I would disagree.

“Nice views plus cafés & shops”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

Easy walk from central city and just past the fortress. Great views looking back across the water to the fortress and city, lotsa cafés to break at and watch the world go by. Most have outdoor heaters so even on a cold days it is really pleasant. Hopefully the construction mess won't last too much longer.
