My parents, husband, and I took a stroll around Aker Brygge since it was on the hop on-hop off tour and my friend suggested the area. I'm glad we took my friend's advice -- the Aker Brygge area was great for people watching! Since my stepdad's stomach wasn't feeling so good, we ate at Friday's (I know, I know, why eat at an American restaurant in Norway), but the cheese sticks and salad were to die for, especially in the heat, and we got 20% off using our hop on-hop off ticket!! There are many restaurants in the area, most of which had great views of the harbor. The Aker Brygge area is across the harbor from the Akershus Castle and Fortress and right next to the Nobel Peace Center. While walking around Aker Brygge, we saw many sculptures and inlets, which were pretty cool. There seemed to be quite a lot of construction in the area, but it didn't keep us from people watching. We never saw anyone swimming though. I'd highly suggest a stroll and a bite to eat in this area!
