We'd never have come across this place if not for the Tripadvisor reviews, are we're very glad that we did. From start to finish, this was an exceptional meal and experience in general
The staff were personal and friendly, if a little eccentric. Outstanding, embarrassingly good English. We had a four course menu (foregoing unfortunately the seabass and scallop ceviche). We started with a lobster risotto with lobster foam, braised artichoke and shallot puree which was incredibly divine. That was followed by fried skatewing with sweet potato terrine and carrot puree ( :D )and thereafter by roast halibut with sweetbread and a beurre rouge. We finished with a tarte tatin and tarragon sorbet (I found the tarragon sorbet challenging but my friend loved it). This was accompanied by a delicious chablis from the extensive menu.
We were looked after from start to finish in a stress free way. Our waiter (dressed like a chef - we weren't sure if he was the chef) deeply cared that we enjoyed our experience and what we were eating but had nothing to worry about.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with hide-lined seats and an exceptional bathroom. If ever back in Oslo or a friend is visiting, will definitely return or be delighted to recommend this place.
