On the outside, you get the feeling it might be a strip-club or a "Hooters"-copy, but when you enter old rock, and an overwhelming aura of "rock cafe" hits you pleasantly. Istarted out with the burger at 99NOK and had a beer 49NOK; food was excellent, and the service was great. though clearly a pub, it had no problems extruding a resturant-ish level of food and service quality.
In a pub, a barkeeps job is also to be conversational partner for those who aren't with friends, or are waiting for friends to arrive, and here do the married couple owning Midnight Café excel, with interesting stories.
Having eaten the more than excellent burger, (made from fresh products only, according to the owners), I decided to continue the visit and as the night grew older the pub filled up nicely with young people, all in a great mood, with the music just loud enough that one could have a conversation while still blaring rock, (typical bands being played and requested was: The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and similar bands).
VERY good selection of drinks on their drinks menu, with something for everyone! A very capable staff, who never seemed to be stressed, and clearly loves their jobs.
If I am to nitpick there were a somewhat shabby toilet, but since this is a pub mainly it does not change my rating, but were Midnight a restaurant it would have gotten a lower score from me.
