I never noticed the budget tag to this hotel - it was booked by work. Great location in the town (although its a small place - and very easy to get around). Room was clean, but very small. I'm not sure what size the bed was - i never realised that there was something that existed that was smaller than single. The good thing was that you could keep your feet cool as they stuck out the end of the bed as the window was so close!

Breakfast was better than average. In all honestly, the hotel was fine - just very small and tired. I did spend much time comparing prices, but i assume the room rate reflects the budget nature and if i was on a tight budget i would return.

Room Tip: Go high - a busy Irish bar at the street corner.

Near the city square, Nidaros Cathedral, shopping mall and city centre shopping street. The hotel itself has nothing more to offer except the location compares to newer hotels around the city. The bathroom really need a face-lift as the facilities are really old (20 Years minimum?). For the price we paid it is OK though.

The location in the center of Trondheim is perfect. It's close to everything worth visiting in the center and close to bus stops.

The hotel need renovation. The carpets are outworn, purple from the eighties. You will see bumps and scratches all around. The rooms are OK. Double room had a nice double bed and a sofa that could be converted to a double bed. It was a fridgde in the which was not working. The bathroom was ok.

The breakfast was a big surprise. All you need in fresh and light environment.

The hotel market themselves as a budget hotel, which it is. So if you need a place to sleep and wnat a good breakfast it's worth the money. Will come back.

Room Tip: No problem having room facing the streets.

I've stayd at a few hotels in Trondheim before, because of work, and this is absalute rock bottom. The bed was very uncomfortable and already by 3am the first night the pillow was giving me neck problems - I remember the time because the clock the the tube tv was stairing me in the face as the people having a normal conversation on the street 6 floors below me kept me awake. I can honestly say that I did not sleep a straight hour throughout the night. Even if I let aside the smoking smell in the hallways, the cheap bathroom and the small tv, I would still never recommend this hotel to anyone, as it does not even stand under its basic purpose; let you sleep through the night.

We chose this hotel due to a positive benefit/cost ratio. It is located close to everything in Trondheim, and since we don't spend much time in the hotel while travelling we thought a budget hotel would be ok. But the rooms were pretty small, and the hotel is a bit worn down. Probably what you would find in a Motel 6 in the US. Windows were very dirty, and it was not possible to open them much. Since there is no climate control it was a very warm night. The bed was not very comfortable, seemed a bit worn down as well. Only positive thing was there were wooden floors, no carpets. Bathroom was very simple as well. Breakfast was okay, however.

Regarding the location; it is in the middle of the city centre with a lot of bars and restaurants around, as well as traffic. Be prepared to bring ear plugs!

We booked this hotel for our stay in Trondheim following our football team. Very central, clean, tidy. Good value (especially in pricey Norway), helped by discount for staying 3 nights. Breakfasts superb with emphasis on healthy eating. Reception staff most welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.

Roadworks across the street started early, impacting on sleep quality, but hey, this isn't the Ritz - for the price, the Thon is a good stopover.

We spent a long night at this hotel. The standard twin size room was adequate by Norwegian standards for a moderately priced hotel. However, the room faced the street with construction going on until late evening and then a bar across the street playing loud music until midnight with the patrons making a lot of noise as they departed for another 30 minutes. It was simply too noisy to open the window and the room was too hot for comfort. There seemed to be no climate control at all and with the long hours of sun in June the room was hot despite the outdoor temperature being quite comfortable. Our friends had a room facing neighboring rooftops that seemed to have some type of cool air entering from a vent over the door and not so heated by the sun. That room may have been comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was good and location was excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a no view room away from the street with some type of climate control in the summer or be pr...
