The assistant was quite young and not as helpful as I would have expected. They either need more local knowledge of training on customer service.

It was very difficult to find and is not where it is shown on any map. Then when you do find it, it is closed early on a Saturday afternoon. How can they close at 3pm when the main train from Oslo arrives just before that time?

If you have a tourist map of Trondheim (ours was given to us by the information on the Hurtigruten coastal steamer) - when you try and find the i on the map - beware - it has moved! - not at the address given above ! Once you eventually find the building it was in there is a very small piece of paper saying they have moved - no helpful i sign. When you find the actual office, they have only one no leaflet and they were very unhelpful considering there was no-one else there. They didn't know which bus we needed to get to the Trondelag folk museum - and told us the wrong bus stop. (What a contrast to Tromsø T.I. which was brilliant). There was no notice on their website to say that the cathedral, one of the main attractions, is shut to the public for 4 months while they tune the organ. Most other attractions are closed in February.

the information office has now moved, after trekking across town to find it and then having to ask others where it was I eventually found it, it's only a few streets away, head towards the river down the Main Street off the square, when you see a shopping centre that has a free wifi sign turn left into that street and it is on the right. The staff were knowledgeable enough but not all that helpful.

On the edge of the central square, the Tourist Information centre is easy to find and provides all you would expect. It is the meeting point for the city tours. These are well worth doing and provide an easy two hour walk. Our guide certainly knew her Trondheim. She had worked in the Cathedral and her knowledge was incredible, especially her explanation of the Saints which adorn one of the walls. The tourist office staff speak excellent English, as you might expect and there were few pleasant tourist trinkets if you want to prove that you 'Love Trondheim
