The drive is really nice, we came from the south, and went down on Trollstigen. The mountain plateau before reaching Trollstigen is also very nice. I would have loved to do some hiking there, but unfortunately didn't have enough time. At the top, it is really worth it to go to the second viewing platform, for nice views of the valley.

We thought 'The Eagle Road' out of Geiranger was amazing, there is so much more with Trollstigen, another of the scenic roads of Norway and a UNESCO W H site.
The drive up is spectacular, great that I was being driven up as I could just try and take it all in. The viewing platforms and architecture of the whole area is in keeping with the surrounds. Check out the photos and info in the cafe.
The superlatives and photos don't do this justice.

This drive is just amazing and worth some extra time in the car so you don't miss

The road is spectacular and just an experience for life, and the nature with the mountains fantastic. How the mountains go steep down and with the great view from the visitor center and the balconies they have made to see the view down the road are not to miss

Must see! Even though we drove from Alesund - not the closest city to start thr trip to Trollstigen. There are 3 viewpoints there - don't miss.

Path of The Trolls
This is a trek not to be missed, whether on your own or a ship or a private excursion. We opted for the ship’s excursion because it was 8 hours and we really didn’t want to be left in port if we were late getting back . A BIG consideration! It was great. AND A BIG TIP! When opting for a ship’s excursion, sign up early. We did and we are on the FIRST bus. I cannot stress how important that can be when you get to a rest stop with limited WC’s and three other busses roll up just behind you. Just figure that out ladies!
The Path of the Trolls scenery is magnificent. We stopped at a little local church, Stordal, and at the top to see the Stigfossen Waterfall before descending into the valley with its infamous 11 hairturns. Had a great lunch buufet. Stopped at the Troll Wall. A great vertical stone edifice that no one had ever scaled before the ‘60’s . Pity there was no sunshine this day, but a great trek anyway.
