We spent three nights in this Hotel during last December.
The room was pretty spacious and properly clean, the position very favourable to get to the city center by foot in a couple of minutes. After taking Flybusse from the Airport, once you get off at the stop they mention you, it takes not more than 5 minutes to reach the hotel, even if you're carrying your luggage. The hotel puts at their Guests' disposal a little kitchen, that could be a good compromise considering that the prices in the area are crazy! The hotel rate as well was the most convenient of our whole trip around Norway!
Our stay was very positive, we were just a bit disappointed when, by late arrival and after having sent several e-mails, the lady at the Reception told us that we weren't expected to check-in and the room was "quite ready"...
but a little mistake can always occur and it didn't disturb our stay.
We would definitely recommend this place!

This guesthouse was excellent, my boyfriend and I stayed there for a couple of nights in December, and we highly recommend it! It is two minutes away from the main train-station, but not on a main road, so very quiet, incredibly easy to get to, and a short walk away from teh harbour. The house itself is lovely, the room we were in was spacious, bright, spotless, warm and comfortable; we had our own sink, mirror, and table with chairs in the room, a spacious wardrobe, and very comfortable beds. Bathroom was amazing, with heated floors, and even though it was shared, it felt like it was ours! Kitchen is of course extremely handy, since we saved a significant amount of money by having simple meals at home, and in addition to a full set of kitchen utensils there was tea, muesli, pasta, and always a bowl of stroopwaffel (Yum!) left for us on the kitchen counter! Our landlords were soooo nice and helpful as well, just generally decent lovely people.

This place definitely exceeded expectations, if we're ever in Bergen again, we know where we will be staying!

Room Tip: Take the room opposite the bathrooms if you have a choice (room 3)!

This guesthouse was great. The lady was very friendly and the location was really good from the centre of Bergen and the train station. You share a bathroom with some others, but it does have a heated floor! The guesthouse has its own cooking facilities, which is helpful as the food in Norway is very expensive.

This was the first place we have stayed in with a kitchen to do our own cooking ,which was brilliant as we found Norway very expensive ,so we were able to prepare all our meals .Our room was very nice and airy and sharing a bathroom was no problem ,it was just opposite our room. The location was great ,in the old part with character but just a short walk to the harbour.

We stayed at Skiven Guesthouse for 7 nights and that place positively surprised us.
The guesthouse has good location, only few minutes walk to the harbour, Bryggen, city centre etc. The house is on small hill, in a nice area with a lot of beautiful, old houses. There are 4 rooms on the main floor, a shared bathroom (shower) and separate toilet. The shared kitchen is well equipped (a lot of dishes, pots, coffee machine), so there is possible to prepare any meal you want. We can also enjoy tea and coffee which were provided by the hosts. Whole house is clean and the owner - Elisabeth is very kind person, cares for it all the time.
Our room was quite big, clean and nice. There is also cable internet connection available (included in price), so if you bring your own laptop you can access to the Internet.
We can recommend this gusethouse definitely. If we visit Bergen again, we will be glad to stay in Skiven Gusethouse again.
Kind regards :)

Stayed at Skiven for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay.

As you probably know if you are reading this, Bergen is a VERY expensive city to stay in. However, this guesthouse is very reasonably priced (600Kr a night when I stayed) and having access to a kitchen also means you dont have to pay 200Kr+ for a pizza!

Rooms are basic (no TV, shared bathroom) but fairly large and clean. There is WiFi which was a little tempramental when we were there, but I didnt expect it to have any so was a bonus

Around an 8-10 minute walk to the harbour, funicular etc

Would definitely recommend to others

We liked it here very much as it is good value for expensive Bergen. There is a kitchen to make meals and the room we had was a great size. The hosts live separately upstairs so it is no problem to come and go as you please. The location is also very convenient to town.
