We booked a table weeks in advance as we’d seen all the good reviews on tripadvisor and thought it might be worth checking out - don’t bother. It was incredibly disappointing on multiple levels due to the sheer plainness of the food.
The halibut was dry and appallingly tasteless, even when coupled with the sauce it came with. The small potatoes that accompanied it were gritty and simply boiled - hardly worth the total price of dinner (850+ NOK with a small lobster dish as an add-on for 175, and a creamy fish soup that was standard but nothing special). The service was monotonous and poorly-timed; our waiter repeated his lines like a robot and interrupted our conversation multiple times.
Hopefully for tradition’s sake, things can improve, but for now, I doubt we will return.
