We saw the menu in advance on the website and the choices sounded delectable. It was our 2nd night in Bergen & we already concluded that it would be hard for us to have dinner with a couple drinks for under US$100 in this town. So despite the prices on the menu, we couldn't resist. We had a little trouble finding the location because there is another Klostergaten 8 further along and we came from that direction. This same thing happened to us trying to find another restaurant. Must be a Bergen "thing". Anyway, we didn't reserve in advance on a Friday night late in August and we had no problem getting a table in the lower level. We ordered a halibut starter to share which was sublime. All the ingredients complimented the fish and we loved it. Our mains were both veal - one the "gourmet" and the other the "burger". The veal in the burger wasn't ground but seemed to be the same cut as the gourmet version and it was terrific...especially nice since it was 100 kroner cheaper at 169. With 2 glasses of Chianti our bill came to US$120, pricey by our standards, but we enjoyed everything at Spisekroken. And the service was very good, too. We left thinking we might have to return to try some of the other options.
