It was an experience never to forget! We had a fabulous 5 course meal that was full of flavours, from local farmers for most of the courses. The presentation was creative, artistic, a real « festin ». We were received with a champagne glass, some taste of the sea as appetizers. Story about how the restaurant, started, etc....very entertaining. It is an absolutely fantastic culinary experience

I have controversial feelings about visiting the Cornelius beginning of January. While I did enjoy food and wine I still have some reservations.
As many people earlier described it is a very slow paced dining experience. Though, there is nothing to blame restaurant for as they state that the dinner will last from 18:30 to 22:30.
The thing that they can improve is the time management for serving their first dish and the last one. we had to wait more than half an hour for an appetizer to appear on our table and were given very short time, about 15 minutes only to finish desert and get dressed for the boat departure. No time offers for tea / coffee to wrap it up. That is not right.
****The restaurant states on its web site that the boat ride is included in the cost, but we found on our bill additional 800 nok upon returning to the hotel. I hope to clarify it with the restaurant later.
Overall experience was delightful.
The restaurant probably is the most romantic one in Bergen and should one decides to impress the partner with an amazing dining experience he/she should look nor more and to book a table at Cornelius as it seems it is difficult to get one.
Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the food and wine at Cornelius. We are sorry to read that the service for the first dish was to late and then you had to short time for the desert. We will take this further to our management to improve this in the future.
Regarding the bill we are sorry for the misunderstanding, but due to Norwegian law we need to split the bill due to different VAT on transport and food, but the total is still the same amount that we state on our web page.
We hope to welcome you back another time
The food was the catch of the day. It was realy perfect served. The owner told the storry of the place. And the location was good placed. Daly boat pickup from Bergen and back.

The whole package sounded like such an experience. I booked this for my partners birthday and we both expected to be wowed but were left unimpressed. Where to start.. From entering, you are pressurised to take a drink, then you are presented with a wine choice (only 2 out of 7000 apparently) which are very expensive, £50 a bottle is the cheapest. We were served with some bread and butter, which I must admit, was the best I enjoyed of the whole night. We then got served pollock ceviche , which was okay, nothing to write home about. Then a mussel soup which just tasted like mushroom soup, overly creamy and again nothing to shout about. Then we were served with cod which was nice, served with parsnip purée and vegetables. The wait between courses was tedious, we could not believe how long the wait between courses was. After a long wait we were served with whale, which we had to send back as it was cold. They did return a fresh hot dish after we sent this back which was very nice and probably on par with the beautiful bread and butter. Lastly after another long wait we got dessert, there take on chocolate orange, which was actually really nice. All in all I am giving the low score on the basis that the food is not 5 star and the service is not 5 star, the atmosphere is very boring and there was no music. We asked for some music as it was on in the next room but the response was that the speaker was broke (you would think that they would fix this, going off how much they charge for their service) The whole experience was a let down and I personally think it’s not worth the money.
I am so sorry to read that your visit was a let down. We appreciate your constructive and thorough feedback.
