We had a great stay here in Bergen. The location was great and the rooms were beautiful. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good, but the most stand-out of this hotel was the staff. Everyone was very welcoming, and the morning we left to continue our trip to Oslo by train to catch a plane to Amsterdam, we accidentally left an ipod and a couple expensive earphones. We were not able to go back to retrieve (as we were on a train) and were certain that it was gone for good. We called the hotel in hopes that they could find our items and hopefully find someway to retrieve them. We spoke with Tina who was extremely kind and helpful. She did so much to help find our items (we later found out they had fallen out of our bag on our seat during breakfast) and worked out a way to send it to us. We appreciate it so much! And will come again! Great hotel and staff.

Really nice hotel. The room was lovely although annoyingly we had a twin room as a double and they didn't have any doubly duvets. Breakfast was amazing. To be honest, it could have been rubbish but I still would have given it a 4/5 as the location is absolutely amazing! It was so easy to get to from the airport and its so close to the Bryggen. So so good! Would use this hotel again but would probably try and get it at a discounted rate like we did this time.

We were upgraded to a business class room because the hotel was full. I don't really know the difference between business and standard but I wouldn't pay extra for business. The room was small and dark, overlooking the courtyard, but is was quiet and comfortable. Fine for a short stay. The location was perfect. Right next to the old wooden buildings in Bryggen and the airport bus on the doorstep. We arrived by train and the taxi from the station was only about 5 mins but really expensive! I can't remember how much but it was a shock. Norway is very expensive. Wifi in the room was good, as was the buffet breakfast.

A little old building, old lifts, average rooms, average toilet with only liquid soap dispenser, but good breakfast in next day. We stay only one night , so just OK experience, not matching with much hyphed " Radisson Blue" a Four Star Choice . A simply overpriced three star choice, only advantage is Central Location .

Room Tip: Choose harbor side for good views , if you can get.

We checked in at 9pm after a drive up from Stavanger - to be told 'a system error meant we could only have a single'. There were 2 of us.

Obvious thought - do they have 2 systems - one for doubles and one for singles? ER no. So we said 'no way'. The single room booking system was working seemingly. We heard the same story told to at least three other check ins.

First offer - a free drink: No
Second offer a free meal: No we booked a double months ago - we expect you to honour the booking of a double.
Finally they called across the road and we stayed there (Clarion - very good by the way) - Rad SAS picked up the bill.

Next day - upgrade, free meal, free stay!

So terrible start - great recovery.

As you would expect from a Radisson --- decent service, generous and helpful staff and a high standard spec.

But beware - single room issue appears to be a recurring one - so of you hit same issue - you know what to say - politely:

NO WAY

But a good recovery

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a confusing experience. I had to wait for a room to be vacated at 5 pm. Eventually I got a twin room which was short of tea soap etc. the Internet did not work on Apple IPads for some reason. I witnessed a woman who had waited 3 hours asking when her pre booked room would be ready at 11.15 pm.
After that I have to say the hotel is well located and well designed. Breakfast is excellent. But the check in desk had only 2 staff on and though helpful they could not produce rooms that were not available. Housekeeping seemed to be a problem. This was a poor experience in a hotel chain that usually offers good service
