We felt lucky to have chosen this hotel: very friendly and helpful staff, clean room with a good sized bathroom, quiet road but near the city centre, delicious self-service breakfast with homemade jams and free do-it-yourself waffles and coffee in the afternoon as you relax in the garden.

Room Tip: If stairs are a problem, don't have a room on the top floor.

Of the 8 hotels we visited in scandinavia, this was the most disappointing. The walls on the top floor are very thin, and we could hear TV, conversations, and even footsteps in the adjacent room. In fact it sounded like there were people walking in our room, which was disturbing at night. The bathroom was comically small. The sink was about the size of my hand. There was no shower curtain, so when showering, everything in the bathroom gets wet. WiFi was frustrating to use, requiring the user to log on every time the device wakes up. We entered the WiFi code at least 20 times during our 2-day visit. A plus for this hotel was the delicious free waffles in the evening. These were the best waffles we've ever had.

This is a really nice, small hotel. The price is very reasonable compared to other hotels. Location is also quite good. Staff is very forthcoming and friendly.

But, and this is not related to this hotel in particular; whale meat for breakfast...??
Come on Norway.

Quiet and indeed well located hotel on top of a hill, close to the city center and in the middle of a good residential area.

We can confirm that the staff is very nice and the breakfast is good although almost exclusively local.

The place however has tiny rooms, with no blinds (a slight inconvenient when nights last a couple of hours in the summer time), small and quite tired beds, and even tinier shower room (a mix of toitlets, basin and shower in no more than two square meters).

This all has been optimised at the expense of the customer comfort... However the price paid (€ 150/night) is just not good value but poor value for money.

Room Tip: A few rooms with a view of the garden (quieter)

The location is perfect for us - close enough to everything we wanted to see and do and at the same time, peaceful. The staff is so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very high quality. We were here during a uniquely hot spell and our room became a bit warm. On the cooler (normal) days it was perfect. I recommend this for a very pleasant experience.

Our room was an attic room on the third floor, and carrying our bags up was a problem as there is no lift and the stairs are steep and winding. Although small the room was bright, modern and comfortable. As others have remarked the breakfast was exceptional with fresh, mainly home made dishes in the Nordic tradition. A pleasant place to stay and good value.

Room Tip: If you have problems with stairs avoid the attic.
