Got a room on 6th floor in the building across the street from reception. I would encourage the hotel management to take a walk through the corridors there and see if they are able to enjoy the experience. The corridor is carpeted, extremely stuffy, dusty and the smell is a not overly pleasant mix of mould, wet dog, cigarette smoke and dead rat in the wall. Being an asthmatic, this is not a healthy place to spend time.
Adding to this: Generally worn-down room. Extremely noisy and poorly noise-isolated. Dirty, rusty and unsanitary water kettle that was not replaced upon request. Old, worn furniture and a chair full of crumbles from the last occupant.
No idea how the breakfast was, after the corridor walks my apetite was gone.
On the plus side? Well, the hotel has the nerve to call the room "Superior" and charge 2200NKR per night, 7-800 more than usual in Bergen. I guess for Scandic, having the nerve is a plus...
I travel for a living and spend more time in hotels in Bergen than in my own flat, but I will not be returning to Scandic Bergen City.More
