Thon Bristol is a comfortable hotel for anyone who wants to be right there in the heart of Bergen. It is next to the Main Pedestrian Walk and most of Bergen's 'must-see' attractions are quite close by. The service is good and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained. If you have a choice ask for a room on the upper floors that faces the Pedestrian Walk .
The complimentary breakfast is good and wholesome... and there are many eating joints around the hotel. The makeshift Fishmarket at the nearby wharf is worth a visit.
The tariff is mid-range and one can get a good rate if one can plan booking in advance.
We hope to go back there on our next visit.

This hotel was a bit different to what we were use to but that is not to say it was bad, quite the opposite. We found the hotel very clean and well presented with coffee and tea available to guests in the lobby. The food was well presented and had a great choice especially for breakfast. There were plenty of restaurants nearby as the hotel is located in the city centre.

The only weird thing we found was that there was a large step down from the bathroom, larger than normally expected and the doors swung out wards.

Staff were very friendly and if I remember correctly the front doors were closed later at night making it quite secure an safe. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel even though we did get lost looking for a specific restaurant but hey, that is what holidays are all about.

The hotel is situated within walking distance of the town centre attractions and is approximately a £50 (470NOK) taxi fare from the airport. Reception was friendly and helpful with maps freely available to help you find local attractions. There is also a taxi booking computer terminal in the lobby which is really easy to use. I stayed in a room on the 7th floor which was only a single room and was very compact!! Despite the compact nature of the room it was ok, clean, and functional. The shower was warm with the bathroom as a wet room. The bathroom would have benefit from more shelving to store things on but this was only a minor complaint. The room temperature was rather unpredictable, on arrival it was fine but by the end was far too hot - guess it's hard to control the temperature with just a radiator!
Coffee and tea is provided for free in the reception and breakfast was self service with a good selection of items to choose from. I tried to use the gym, but unfortunately it is approximately a 10min walk from the hotel which is a shame really as I expected it to be part of the hotel. Free wifi is available which was welcomed and for its location, this hotel is recommended.

This hotel provided a good location at a sensible price (Norway is not the cheapest of places to visit). Central to all the sights of Bergen, nice easy 10 min walk to the Station and the Airport bus stop is just acoss the square. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful, room was comfortable and well presented. Breakfast was included and offered a self service selection. All in all a plesant long weekend stay.

There were several Thon hotels in Bergen but Im glad I chose this one. Location could not be beat. Great breakfast buffet and considering prices in Norway Im glad this included breakfast. We stayed in the family room as we were 3 adults and it was cozy enough. A bit of a hassle only because they put us on the 2nd floor which had stairs to go up and down our room so if do ask for the family room just clarify which room you are in. It was also just across the Radisson Hotel where you could take the bus to the airport. That was an unexpected surprise as well.

I've stayed in several Thon hotels throughout Norway for work, and this one is pretty much what one can expect. The rooms are clean enough (although I had what appeared to be someone's leftover dried cranberries behind my room door), there is decent work space and reliable internet, and the locations are usually convenient.

however, I really find the Thon beds to be quite uncomfortable- there's not much in the way of support and I don't find I have good sleep quality. Additionally, there was a lot of drunken student foot traffic outside, which echoes a LOT on the stone streets (on a Monday, no less!). I know the noise isn't the fault of the hotel but it's something to be aware of in this central location!

Breakfast decent, coffee not as bad as I'm used to expecting from a Norwegian hotel.

Stayed 2 nights on a group tour, it is in a good position for tourists, not far from anything. has free coffee in the foyer for those who need it, Wi Fi was good compared to most other hotels on this tour. The room was nothing special, certainly no view of anything, but it was serviceable for our needs. Breakfast was a rabble, very poor, and disorganised staff.
