We spent 3 days 2 nights in Thon Bristol. The twin room was smallish but had adequate facilities and amenities eg ironing board, tv, kettle, cups, shampoo. You may ask for your dental kits from the reception. The included breakfast was very good, as in all Norwegian hotels I stayed thoroughout my tour.

The service was very good. When I asked for directions and even on how to keep the reindeer sausage I bought, they were very obliging to give info.

There are many eateries near the hotel; eg next door and the Expresso cafe just across. The Bergen Fish market is just 10 minutes walk away. The Floyen furnicular is 15 minutes walk away.

So all very good.

This hotel isn’t luxurious by any stretch but it suits a traveler who needs a clean, well located place to sleep. Rooms are a nice size, free WiFi and the breakfast that’s included is above average. It’s location is excellent, a short walk to the fish market (in the harbor) as well as the Kode museums and the train station. Bryggen is also just a few hundred yards away. There’s an attached restaurant and the shopping square is at the corner. I can recommend it to those who don’t mind if there’s a lot of street noise coming into your room from people partying right outside. If you have trouble sleeping don’t book this hotel.

We consider ourself as a convenient hotel with a good location, clean and nice rooms, and a lovely breakfast.
Your feedback fits good to this. We do have a central location in Bergen, which is one of the main reasons why many of our guests choose to stay here. Downside with this is that some street noise might occur, but we do have many rooms turned against the backyard so you can ask spesifically for that at your next stay.

Reasons for choosing us as accommodation also applies to our fresh breakfast with a varied selection which is very much appreciated by our guests.

I do hope you had a pleasant stay here in total and that we will see you again in another occasion.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Bergen. The best in addition to the location was the breakfast, fantastic breakfast and breakfast staff. Short walking distance to all main attractions in Bergen. This was my first stay at this hotel, but not the last.

Room Tip: If you prefer a quiet room it may be best to skip the view (or leave the windows closed).

"In the heart of Bergen" that is expression we use ourself as well. We have all of Bergens attractions just outside our door, something we are happy about. Breakfast is one our main focuses, cause we know how important this is for ours guests. That is why find this feedback very satisfying.

The room I stayed in was rather on the small side, that is especially true for the bathroom. That being said, rooms are usually smaller in the centre of cities and I have to say that it was quite cleverly laid out for such a small room. Enough wardrobe space, well stocked minibar, big tv, very good beds and even two small chairs to sit down and relax in. Also a small desk. As Bergen was unusally hot, a fan had been put into the room and that really was a good thing as there was no airconditioning I guess for the reason that you do not normally need that in Bergen! The walls looked a bit like they could do with some renovation, the carpeted floor likewise. Excellent reception area with lots of info and an easy to use how to order a taxi. Staff was really very nice, both at the reception desk and in the breakfast room, something I have not often come by. The breakfast buffet could be a bit crowded, but it was absolutely excellent! A very varied and really tasty selection including lots of freshly cut fruit and scrambled eggs made of eggs (not egg powder which is often the case in many hotels). As the restaurant is situated on the top floor, there were some nice views to be had and even a few tables outside for when Bergen is experiencing nice weather as it was now.

Room Tip: Rooms to the side street a bit more quiet that out towards the square

Thank you so much for your review after your stay at Thon Hotel Bristol Bergen.

I must say that this was a lovely review to read, and i am very proud of all the positive elements you are mentioning.
Despite of the small room, i am pleased to read that you found it convenient with the furnitures, our Smart-TV, comfortable beds and minibar with a various selection.

As you mentioned and experienced while you were here, there was an extreme heat here in Bergen for a few weeks.
The warm weather made our rooms relatively warm as well. Our ventilation system is a older model and did not have the capacity to keep the temperature at the level we wanted. We equipped all our rooms with electronical fans and we do hope that this helped.
The good news is that we are now planning a total renovation of our hotel, and a new ventilation system will be included in that project in addition to new carpets and walls.

We are also pleased that you found our reception and lobby area very convenient.

We do have a strong focus on the quality on our breakfast, with mostly home made elements from pure and fresh ingredients.
Therefore are we very glad for your comment on this.
With the lovely weather i do hope you were able to sit on the terrace and enjoy the breakfast.

The only reason I'm giving this hotel 3 stars is because of their outstanding breakfast. It's also very conveniently located. A 5 minute walk from the fish market and the funicular.
We had several issues: 1. The bathroom sink did not have a plug. As everyone who travels knows, hand-washing clothes every few days is a must. We wanted to wash some clothes before going out on the day we arrived and we asked for a plug. It took over 1 hour and asking more than once to get it. 2. There was no luggage rack in the room, so we again had to ask for what should have been there to begin with. This didn't take so long. 3. The soap dispenser in the shower was broken. We didn't even bother to get anything done about it. 4. The lamps were much too oversized for the room and in fact took up the entire space on both night tables. We had to remove the both and put the in a corner in order to use the night tables. 5. Our room was street-side, so at night it was very noisy. Luckily we had earplugs. 6. There is no parking provided, so we were supposed to get a discount of 30Kr per day at the overpriced garage down the street, which normally charges 230 kroner per day!! The hotel is supposed to stamp the ticket for the discount. After I paid for the ticket I found out that I hadn't gotten the discount. The man at the garage said the hotel stamped it wrong. I went back to the hotel & they refused to take any responsibility.
I would never return to this hotel.

We are glad that you were satiesfied with our breakfast and our location. Breakfast is an important element for a hotel stay so we are working hard to serve a high quality breakfast. So thank you for the positive comment.

Further, it seems like your stay in Thon Hotel Bristol did not live up to your expectations, and we are terribly sorry about that.
Regarding plug in the sink, is this something all rooms are normally equipped with so it is a deviation that it was not there. The fact that it took over one to get one is not good enough, so i will follow up our routines personally. This also applies to the luggage rack, we normally have those in all of our rooms and have now double checked all of them that this is in order.
When it comes to the furniture in our rooms is something we will renew within short time, due to a planned total renovation and renewal of our hotel.
Thon Hotel Bristol are centrally located in the city centre of Bergen - This is one of the reasons why many guests choose to stay here, to have all of Bergens attractions in immediately vicinity. It also means that some noise will be audible.

Rates in the parking garage we are working together with are decided by the parking company. We do offer a 20 % discount by giving the ticket a stamp in the reception, which we consider as a nice service. After your feedback we have talked to the parking company that will provide us a new stamp machine to make sure that discount will be given. I am sorry that you felt that we did not take any responsibility for this, cause we are eagered to help our guests as much as we can.

Again, i am sorry for the bad impression you got from us but i still hope you enjoyed our wonderful city and the rest of your vaction.
