“Central location and great value for money”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Stayed in Augustin Hotel with two daugheters during Easter week.
Spacious room and a reasonable bathroom for three persons.
Clean rooms and friendly helpful staff manning the reception.
Very reasonable price given central location and a great hearty breakfast buffet included.
Also free coffee and waffels in the afternoon.
You will probably not go wrong if you decide to stay here

Room Tip: Choose something facing away from the main steet - C. Sundts street.

The room was spacious but the 2 single beds were tiny. Decor looks old and tired. Facilities are basic but it's clean, that's the most important.

Breakfast on the first day was a bit disappointing. with 1.5 hr left of brekky hours, most of the hot food only had scraps left. Tables were left with crumbs and dirty plates. However the next 2 mornings were great! Food was fresh, scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. Very happy with it.

Location was good, quite central.

Make sure to request a newly renovated room(triple or deluxe double),regular double or older rooms are smaller and a bit worn. Some older rooms do have better harbor views.Triple and deluxe rooms are a good size with modern bath and decent sound proofing.I save a lot of money by booking the hotel thru the Augustin reception.(350 kronas less then booking companies plus an upgrade)

The location is 5 minutes from fish market stop ,if using fly bussen .10 minute walk to Hurtigruten dock(more with luggage, some inclines).Train station is about 20 minutes walk (difficult with luggage).Taxis are very expensive, expect to pay 190 kronas for a 1mile ride.If you order a taxi they start the meter on arrival (92 kronas to begin and then it escalates). It is easy to walk to town center activities(5-10 minutes)Recommend hanseatic museum, bryggen and all viewpoints.

Free coffee and tea bar with snacks served all day.Waffle bar is served from 4pm-6pm daily, if you want to save money on food this is a great help.Decent breakfast and helpful reception.Nice renovated tavern from the 17th century.

Room Tip: renovated triple or deluxe

I usually prefer to use 5 star accomodation, but my travelling companion chose this hotel for us. The Augustin is in an excellent location, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff are lovely, the service is wonderful, and the breakfast is good. A lovely and charming little hotel, thank you!

Bed was good and long enough. Chanel's on the tv where disappointing. A few Norwegian channels and one English Chanel (BBC news) could have had a little more. Friendly and helpful people at the front desk. Good internet speed on the wifi, could have been luck. Comforters where long enough, which is a huge plus. The gym / workout room is small and consist of a treadmill and a bike.

Stayed for only one night but have no complains about the hotel.
Location is very good - close to harbour and city centre. The flybus to the airport stops at the door and you can buy tickets from reception.
Friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast and comfortable room.
