Make sure to ask for harbour view, there is an upcharge, but well worth it! Have dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast will leave you ready for serious sight seeing! The staff could not have been more helpful, there is a nice bar to relax in before dinner too. Tucked right behind the Bryggen area in Bergen. Perfect location!

Nice hotel, perfect location. We shared the suite: 4 people fit in very well. Rooms, public areas and reception clean and welcoming. Great breakfast and free coffee and water during day, just perfect. Near everything to be seen in Bergen.

Spot on location, Breakfast is poor juice is from consentrate without a healthy/fresh alternative. The baths need an upgrade but is ok i hate bathtubes should have a walk in shower alternativ without risk of falling stepping in and out of bathtub before and after showering. But thats a general thing for norwegian hotels. staff is friendly and nice. gym and sauna is nice. stayed here 2 times now 1 with work and 1 private disappointed with breakfast both times.

I was really happy with the check-in and cleanliness of our room, which was booked as a junior suite. While some don't like booking a room to the courtyard, I personally like the courtyard because there is absolutely no sound from the street so it's nice and quiet. I can also say the walls are very thick between our rooms, since my mother in-law was in the room next to us babysitting and I know my kids had a few meltdowns which we could hear very faintly.

I booked on booking.com the junior suite, but in the future, will make every attempt to book the family room which seems to be the very best suite in the hotel. Absolutely perfect location right in the center of Bergen on the water! And they also have a parking garage in the basement of the hotel, which is pretty tricky moving around in but a very good and secure spot if you have a car. Unfortunately though no options for charging an electric vehicle down there as of today (my main complaint).

Room Tip: If the experience matters, I strongly recommend booking a superior or deluxe room with a harbor view...

We had booked a standard room for two nights and were absolutely not happy with it. As other reviewers stated the floor was scratched to pieces, the walls dirty and scuffed and the room generally very shabby as well as cramped. The pictures posted on the internet must have been taken a decade ago.

We would have lived with it were it not for the moldy shower curtain and grout - not acceptable, especially when listed as a 4*.

When we complained, they offered to give us a junior suite for a small supplement (24kr/night) and we decided to take them up on it as the room we'd been given was just plain depressing.

It was like a whole different hotel: a very large lofty room, with king sized bed, recently decorated, impeccably clean, bright and airy, with a shower door and views over the harbour.

I would absolutely recommend that room type, it was gorgeous. The only small detail is that the toiletries included in the room could be better presented as they look like hospital dispensers and no difference is made between body wash and shampooo - not 4* standard.

We did have some trouble sleeping with the windows open due to noisy drunks at the harbour bars, but that's the risk of such central locations (one block behind the waterfront).

Room Tip: don't book a standard room

Except for the standard of the room our stay was very well.
We had a standard double room, and the floor was very worn and the yellow walls had alot of stains and scratches. Breakfast was excellent even though i had to ask for more egg and bacon.

Travelled on a Globus tour of Scandinavia. In Bergen we were given room 340 which was hot with no ventilation, and a window which could not be opened and high up on the wall making the room claustrophobic. The room opens into a corridor which again had no ventilation and had a musty odour. This soured an excellent tour.Globus advertises the tour as a premium tour and should take full responsibility to see that all guests are well accommodated.Four other couples who were accommodated in the same wing of this Hotel had similar experience.
