Owner description: Fløyen is a must do while in Bergen. Fløibanen, the funicular brings you up the hillside, from Bergen city centre to the top of the mountain in 6 minutes. At Mount Fløyen you will find beautiful views of Bergen, the nearby islands, fjords and mountains surrounding Bergen. Fløyen is a great destination for hiking, mountain biking and soft adventures. We are surrounded by hillsides, mountains, forests, nice little lakes and numerous trails. We offer daily guided hikes “Hiking Mount Fløyen" and Mountain bike rental from mid June until mid August. We love children, and the children love Fløyen. Let the kids explore our playground, Fløysletten climbing playground, the Troll forest. Try out canoe paddling at lake Skomakerdiket (mid June - mid August), feel the adrenalin rush in FløyenKids ziplinepark and get at kiss from our lovely goats at Fløyen. Fløistuen shop and cafè have souvenirs, perfect gifts and memories from Bergen and Norway. We offer local food as “Fløyenbollen", the cinnamon-bun and our organic soup “Fløyensuppen". Fløien Folkerestaurant is open daily from May until September.

“Nice ride to a great viewingpoint”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

The cable car takes you in several minutes up to the steep Floyen Hill. There is a great viewing platform with the best possible view over Bergen. A restaurant and souvernir shop are close.
If the weather is nice, walking down to the city may be a nice way to go back. I went back with the cable car.

“Be Prepared”
Reviewed 22 August 2014 via mobile

The queue can be a bit daunting we waited 40 minutes. The cable car only takes 70 at a time and return ticket was $85k per adult . Amazing views from the top and lovely restaurant to enjoy a tea of coffee and cake. There was no queue to come back down it was easy. A must do to see the beauty of Bergen

“Great views and fun outdoor experience”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Go early. We were lucky to get there before the major tour groups were dropped off at the entrance and fortunately our wait was less than 10 minutes. After passing the main entrance later after walking on the trails down from the top, the line was at least 8-10 times longer than our line, so the wait was likely 90-120 minutes at that point.

The walk down is steep but safe, paved all the way and lots of people walking the path - a much better option than waiting in line to go back down.

Take some time to walk around the trails up on top of the mountain -- there are some very nice trails that lead to some beautiful settings up on the mountain. Of course, the main attraction is the exceptional views but there are other great ways to spend a day on the mountain that should not be missed.

“Really stunning!”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Can't recommend highly enough! You can see the Atlantic on the horizon as well as all the charming old architecture dotting the hillsides. After you've taken in the view, you can stroll around the gorgeous forest behind the lift. Walk back down to town if you have time.

“Beautiful view”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Nice ride up the mountain by the funicular. Beautiful view from the top. Nice gift shop. Quaint park full of "trolls" behind the gift shop (access by the trail). Fun and relaxing to walk the trail and look at the trolls.
