At Mount Fløyen you will find beautiful views of Bergen, the nearby islands, fjords and mountains surrounding Bergen. Fløyen is a great destination for hiking, mountain biking and soft adventures. We are surrounded by hillsides, mountains, forests, nice little lakes and numerous trails. We offer daily guided hikes “Hiking Mount Fløyen" and Mountain bike rental from mid June until mid August. We love children, and the children love Fløyen. Let the kids explore our playground, Fløysletten climbing playground, the Troll forest. Try out canoe paddling at lake Skomakerdiket (mid June - mid August), feel the adrenalin rush in FløyenKids ziplinepark and get at kiss from our lovely goats at Fløyen. “easy climb”

Ten minute walk from city centre. We chose an early evening time to avoid the crowds. Funicular very smooth. Views are wonderful across bergen and out over towards the sea as well as inland (so the cable car becomes optional or vice versa). Sunset was a bonus. Easy walk down back into the city. You reach a part of the old town with wonderful wooden houses. At times steep and with steps so whilst walking down requires a modest level of mobility and fitness. walking up a good work out - running up as the local joggers do a feat!

“You can see forever!”

Spectacular views of Bergen and beyond. Well worth the minimal cost and time to travel up. Was fun to see the locals get off and their various home destinations.

Sister and I tool off to walk up Mount Floyen on a pretty sunny morning. BUT, by the time we arrived we were walking in rain and drenched with no rain gear. It seams you never know when the weather will change on your. The clouds let up for a bit once we arrived and it was just a grand view of Bergen. With the weather bad, we decided to ride the Funicular down, but our credit cards without a chip were not accepted in the machine. Hence, nice rainy walk back DOWN the mountain. But you know what? It was OK, because walking thru the quant streets of Bergin, zigging this way and that, was cool, too!

“Nice ride to a great viewingpoint”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

The cable car takes you in several minutes up to the steep Floyen Hill. There is a great viewing platform with the best possible view over Bergen. A restaurant and souvernir shop are close.
If the weather is nice, walking down to the city may be a nice way to go back. I went back with the cable car.

“Be Prepared”
Reviewed 22 August 2014 via mobile

The queue can be a bit daunting we waited 40 minutes. The cable car only takes 70 at a time and return ticket was $85k per adult . Amazing views from the top and lovely restaurant to enjoy a tea of coffee and cake. There was no queue to come back down it was easy. A must do to see the beauty of Bergen
